Almost everyone that has ever held a job has wanted to do something like that at one time or another. That someone actually quit a job that way is awesome and worthy of a "Go You!" It was childish and wrong, sure... but people are loving that they can relate vicariously. Nothing wrong with that.

I'm with Paul on this one. Having worked in a customer facing role myself for a good 9 years, (not anymore thankfully!) I can understand why someone could just snap like that. Also, nice to see “vicarious” used in the correct sense for once!

Yes I have OFTEN dreamed of quitting a job or two in my years like this; When someone actually does quit similar to this it does not deserve a "Go You!" it deserves a "Grow Up!". It was NOT the airline's fault there was an unruly passenger, why hail the drama-queen for causing the airline negative publicity and the cost of rolling that slide-thingy back up into the plane? If you can't stand the heat, just remove yourself from the kitchen. It's that simple. And on another completely unrelated matter;

Exactly. The hilarity of a guy grabbing a few beers and sliding down the emergency escape shoot is awesome. I don't think anyone is saying what he did wasn't wrong, but that doesn't make it any less hilarious.
I was listening to commentary from a reporter who was on the plane and she said most people were laughing and not really concerned. They hadn't even realized he left that way.

If you're gonna quit, you may as well do it in style and entertain people as you do; that's how I see it. What I'd like to see is someone quitting a job that they hate by signing the resignation form with their arse-cheeks.

My baby sister (aged 50 next month) is an airline attendant, first class long haul. She reveres that bloke.
I like those army pics.Those guys walk on water in an emergency. Me? I pass water in an emergency. One of the few fun things about getting older is sneezing and farting simultaneously. I no longer also piss since the operation.(no,really) (August 15, 2010 at 12:34 am)padraic Wrote: My baby sister (aged 50 next month) is an airline attendant, first class long haul.
