I'm not knowledgeable on the subject, but I guess that most of the free porn out there is the crap one...
There are, essentially, YouTube sites for porn. The clips/videos (some are full length) are free on the sites, but they run the gamut from terrible and cheaply made, to actually impressive for what they are. So, free isn't necessarily indicative of the quality being presented.
I always wonder about the copyright issues regarding those sites, actually. They tend to allow anyone to upload stuff, so I wonder if these sites ever get hit with DMCA notices like YouTube? Sorry, the tech nerd part of me went off on a tangent there.
But, yeah, the online porn landscape has changed a ton in the last 5-10 years. Used to be just collections of 10-20 second clips hosted on sketchy sites (oh, the malware) with the intent to advertise movies for sale. Now, like I said, a lot of sites follow the YouTube model. Malware is still a big issue with a lot of them, but there's a few that are safe and run a professional ship. Given how big and technically savvy the biggest site is (went to HTML 5 video instead of Flash before anyone else, made their site compatible with the PS4, etc.) most people probably know what I'm referring to.

Why force the consumer to download and install a flash plugin?
You're losing iPhone customers... and now even more than that.
HTML5 works everywhere, except old browsers... too old to be alive and kicking
The PS4... well... that's your department!

Isn't that the whole reason tentacle porn came to exist in Japan?
The nation where there is no limit to the sick and twisted types of porn...with scribbled out genitals.

Which, by most accounts is a remnant of American occupation law, courtesy of the Eisenhower years. Their fault lies in not changing it.

Porn is great. Mostly I don't really use it when I don't have a girlfriend though. If I'm seeing someone, I don't really bother with porn. Also those studies are always worded a certain way to try to make porn seem like it's having more of an affect then it is. There has never been a study that shows that porn has any significant effect on sexual assault. However the language in the anti-porn articles always attempts to imply that, like with this bit you quoted: Quote: an overall significant positive association between pornography use and attitudes supporting violence against women.
They are trying to imply there is a link between porn and violence towards women. However there is none. The reality is that porn is healthy and normal for both sexes. Most women that I've dated or have been close enough friends with to talk about such things, watch and masturbate to porn. What do they even mean by attitudes supporting violence towards women? If there is not actual increase in violence towards women (as there isn't) then it's a totally meaningless statement. Obviously whatever those attitudes (they certainly aren't clear in that article) they don't actually increase violence against women, otherwise the headline would be 'porn increases violence against women.'
The only thing of significance is that college age women are less sexually satisfied if their partner watches porn. That's a dubious stat at best, since it relies on hearsay but probably true, not because of the porn in and of itself but rather because simply because the man's sexual energy is going somewhere else other then his partner.
Also it's good to have you back.

I think anything in moderation can be okay, it's when things become an addiction, that is the problem. And that goes for anything, really.

Just like anything else, when overdone it can harm the individual, judging from what I saw when I managed the adult video store. But on a social level, I don't think it bears any harm.
When we caught our son with porn on his phone at age eleven, I sat down and talked to him about it, from the perspective of the performers (of whom I've met a few), and also from my perspective as a former manager. It doesn't seem to have harmed him, or me, for that matter -- and I was exposed to it five days a week for six years.
I think most of the reaction to porn in America is based on the religious nature of the acculturation most Americans received growing up. I'm a little skeptical of these sorts of studies for that reason.

You should look up a porn about lemon stealing whores. That is the greatest video I have ever seen in my life I had tears from laughing so much.
