Umm, how can they tell? Do they measure the radius of priests' assholes every year to see if they have been stretched more than the last year?

Dozens more graves found at former residential school sites
An indigenous nation in Canada says it has discovered evidence of 54 unmarked graves at the sites of two former residential schools in Saskatchewan.
Keeseekoose First Nation said the graves were found near Fort Pelly and St Phillip's residential schools.
It is the latest finding amid a wave that has triggered a national debate over the residential school system.
Indigenous investigations across the country have found evidence of more than 1,100 graves since last spring.
Just weeks ago, the Williams Lake First Nation announced it had found evidence of 93 unmarked graves on the grounds of St Joseph Mission, a former residential school.
These government-funded compulsory boarding schools were part of a policy meant to assimilate indigenous children and destroy indigenous cultures and languages.

Argentinian bishop sentenced to prison for sexual abuse despite pope Francis defense
A court in Argentina has sentenced a Roman Catholic bishop to four and a half years in prison for sexual abuse of two former seminarians in a major blow to Pope Francis, who had defended the bishop.
A court in the north-western town of Orán, where Zanchetta, 57, was bishop from 2013 to 2017, ordered his immediate detention.
The conviction in the pope’s homeland hits at Francis’s personal credibility since he had rejected accusations against Zanchetta, and created a job for him at the Vatican that got him out of Argentina.
Francis has defended his handling of the case, insisting that Zanchetta “defended himself well” when confronted with the allegations that he had pornographic images on his cellphone.
Francis also defended the decision to give him a job in one of the most sensitive Vatican offices, the treasury that manages the Holy See’s investments and assets, saying Zanchetta had been prescribed psychological retreats each month in Spain and it didn’t make sense for him to return to Argentina between each session.

Priest, nun sexually abused boy living at home for troubled kids in the ’70s, suit says
Nearly 60 men sued the facility and its sister facility in 2008 alleging they were molested by religious leaders there, according to Horowitz Law. Many of those suits have since been settled.
The lawsuit names his alleged abusers as Sean Leo Rooney and Alvin Marie Hagan.
Rooney was a Roman Catholic priest ordained in 1966 who was removed from the clergy in 2008 following numerous allegations of child molestation. Hagan was a nun who died in 2007, court documents state.
His lawyers said the Salesians of Don Bosco and School Sisters of Notre Dame knew or should have known that Rooney and Hagan were accused “serial sexual abusers of minor children” given that there were other allegations before, during and after Polizzi was in their care.
But instead of addressing the problem, the lawsuit states, they engaged in an elaborate and systemic cover-up to protect religious leaders within their ranks from allegations of rampant sexual abuse.

Former Catholic bishop admits covering up sexual abuse allegations
The former bishop of the Roman Catholic diocese of Albany, New York, has acknowledged covering up allegations of sexual abuse against children by priests in part to avoid scandal and protect the reputation of the diocese.
Howard Hubbard made the admission during a deposition taken last year as part of a response to dozens of claims filed under New York state’s Child Victims Act. A judge ordered the deposition released on Friday.
Hundreds of people have sued the Albany diocese over sexual abuse they say they endured as children, sometimes decades ago.
The transcript “will be read with horror by the public”, Cynthia LaFave, an attorney representing some of the plaintiffs, said in an emailed statement. “The public will see the culpability of the Diocese in perpetuating a culture of sex abuse by priests that was allowed to continue for decades.”
Hubbard ran the diocese in New York’s state capital district from 1977 to 2014 and has himself been accused of sexual abuse, which he has denied.
He also testified that the diocese kept records documenting sexual abuse allegations in secret files in a locked room that only he and other top church officials could access.
