End of Times and career
#31
RE: End of Times and career
Christians that are pining for the end of the world do so because they hate life , sex, dance, music, art, science, food, nature, knowledge, humanity. They just can not wait for it all to end and be replaced by the Cosmic Borg Collective where all they have to do is sing Fucking Rock of Ages all day long and the Sky Daddy Fairy will take care of all their needs. It is not happening. Get a clue.
God thinks it's fun to confuse primates. Larsen's God!

And how many are Christians are this kind?

How many Margaret Whites are here?

Is there number increasing/decreasing?

What increases/decreases the number of Christians you have mentioned?

It's not like I asked you to count them...

But I thought that Americans are quite happy and optimistic, regardless of their religion.
I don't know where Stephen King got his Margaret White (ok, I read that there was a lady who worked in a laundry).
But still she seems like a caricature on American Christians, who love life, sex, dance, music, art, science, food, nature, knowledge, humanity.

I don't know Stephen King very well.

The christian story of the end times in Revelations is a real horror show. The finale is everything we have built up over centuries in terms of culture and knowledge being supplanted by the reign of the Sky fairy on the earth. It is not like we will be hanging out listening to our favorite Butthole Surfers CDs and reading Charles Darwin. Not optimistic.

Oh, and the Christian version of the Judeo-Christian story is a three act play. The Jews disappear in the Third act.

You've put me on your ignore list, which is cool by me.

Be advised -- I will still respond to your posts, and you will either not know about it, or you'll have to apologize to yourself each time you unignore me.

Either way, no problem for me. Ignore is for those afraid of contrary views.

ETA: gotcha.

Charlie Campbell knows when the world is going to end.

John Hagee and Mark Biltz
The so-called Blood Moon Prophecy, first predicted by Mark Blitz in 2008 and then by John Hagee in 2014. These Christian ministers claim that the tetrad in 2014 and 2015 may allegedly represent prophecies given in the Bible relating to the second coming of Jesus Christ.

Heck, if you have children who go to high school now, then there is no point to save for their college.
Because
Jeane Dixon claimed that Armageddon would take place in 2020 and Jesus will return to defeat the unholy Trinity of the Antichrist, Satan and the False prophet between 2020 and 2037. She had also previously predicted the world would end on February 4, 1962.

or a year later...
F. Kenton Beshore bases his prediction on the prior suggestion that Jesus would return in 1988, i.e., within one Biblical generation (40 years) of the founding of Israel in 1948. Beshore argues that the prediction was correct, but that the definition of a Biblical generation was incorrect and was actually 70–80 years, placing the Second Coming of Jesus between 2018 and 2028 and the Rapture by 2021 at the latest.

=============================================================

Really, a helluva lot of people have known when the world will come to the end and passed that knowledge to their disciples and followers.

Obviously they didn't know when the world was going to end.

It's not their fault.  That's just what jesus told them. Obviously, jesus tells different people different shit.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!
