Never used a gun that didn't fire water or plastic suction cup darts (badly). That said, it's likely for the best; at the height of my mental health issues, there's no telling what I would have done if I did.
That said, I do have an uncle (in Wisconsin) who does have a cabinet full of guns, apparently for hunting season. Of course, he seems to have the good sense to properly store them in a locked cabinet, unloaded, when not in use.

They have guns at their disposal, but they also have accountability. I don't think imposing a martial police state is quite as easy as the more febrile Alex Jones-types may make it seem.

It becomes exponentially more difficult when the populace is well armed not only with the guns, but an ideology that justifies their use against such action - even and especially by their own state.
