I doubt that statement is true.

Although I tend to agree that I don't think it's accurate to say someone has killed someone because of atheism.

Maybe I'm wrong about that but I don't see how not believing in god could be the root cause of someone murdering someone else.

Not because of reasons of atheists being morally superior necesserily but just because of the logical implications.

Are you ready for the fire? We are firemen. WE ARE FIREMEN! The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them.

Impersonation is treason.

I meant possibility, not what currently is the case. Either way, it doesn't matter since what is "possible" doesn't necessarily apply to how things are.

Logically possible, yes.

Actually possible, no.

There are two left.

I suppose you are correct in a way, but you could argue that it is the person committing the violent or terrorist act that is deadly not religious ideas themselves, no?

Religious ideas can lead to violent behaviour though. If you have faith in a god that rewards certain types of violence with eternal bliss, it is the religion itself that instills such sadistic attitudes into its followers. One can personally justify any action based on faith and utmost conviction, and that's a danger brought by religion itself.

I doubt that statement is true.

The scare quotes are there for a reason, ya know.

Many may have been stoned to death by an atheist but absolutely no one has ever been 'stoned to death' by an atheist.

I think you don't understand the whole purpose of the scare quotes.

It's the other way around when the motive for killing is the religious ideas.

Yeh I still don't understand how scare quotes make that statement any more correct.
