At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

So you're saying that feminism is a luxury?

There is evidence that in ancient times the female form was worshipped and some pagan religions had a matriarchal structure.

A matriarchal society isn't a feminist movement.

Why not?
Women in charge seems a bit feministy to me.

No, feminism is a movement. Being in charge is not. Nor does women being in charge have anything to do with feminism.

So, according to you and besides "is a movement", what is feminism if it's not being in charge?
Does this have something to do with your inability to get laid?

Hello Larsen.
Why would any human who is struggling to survive and find enough food to keep themselves and their children alive be concerned about starting a feminist movement?
Yes, that sort of movement would be a luxury for primitive humans.
But I agree with Boru, if you are looking for societies, wherein women have equality such as can be afforded by their era, they are there in history.

brewer, are you seriously suggesting that feminism is the advocacy of women being in charge of society? I don't think even 99.9% of feminists would agree with that. And the dictionary definition of feminism doesn't agree with you either. By the way I'm a woman, so your insults about me not being able to get laid are pretty useless.
Jeanne, why don't you elaborate a bit more on why a primitive society would not be fertile ground for any kind of feminist movement.
