Happy Easter!

RE: Happy Easter!
Meh, they experienced a change when they subsumed the pagan easter traditions.  Pick it up, dump it, it hardly seems noteworthy in the christian world-o-beliefs. Easter is about indigenous tradition, but also political expediency and the nature of top down religious conversion.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

RE: Happy Easter!
For those who celebrate Easter (whatever the justification they choose for it), I hope you have a good one. For those who don't celebrate Easter (same qualifier), enjoy your Sunday.

As for myself, I plan to get up a little early, go for a run, watch the boats for a bit. Then home for a shower and shave, and (maybe) get some work done.

Spreading religion by the sword and forcing communities to merge compulsively does produce this effect. It makes sense; reaching a settlement with the natives about what should be practiced from the old days before the invasion, is just a doorway to creating new sects and change into something else.

RE: Happy Easter!
There wasn't any forcing by the sword with regards to easter.  Nor was there any sort of communal back and forth with the people about this wherein "the natives" and their rulers reached some sort of settlement.

That is conversion by the sword.

What you can't see is the evil of insincerity towards the being that deserves the most love and appreciation, who come from and go back, and who we are linked to.

One of the reasons and problems I had with Islam when I was non-Muslim was hell for those who disbelieve, I even wrote this poem:

But the balance is to come towards recognize the one who loves his friends his affection for them doesn't prevent him from punishing his enemies. That is the Glorious Majesty I come to realize is the Just balanced light that we are all connected to.

I don't hate you.  I find you a bit sad and kinda funny, but not hate. That's a strong emotion.  I can count on one hand the people I've hated in my entire LIFE.

You hate people who don't "care" for God.  That's good to know though, thanks for showing your true colors.

Yeah, no hatred here either. I save hatred for more important times in life. Go ahead and hate me if you want, though. It's interesting to see how religious holidays can channel that hatred for you.
I don't believe you. Get over it.

Why would you defy the emperors word?  You already planned on throwing an easter party. That's what I;ve been trying to explain to you, lol. It wasn;t conversion -=to easter- by the sword, and it wasn;t some sort of back and forth between the common folk or conquered folk and religious authorities. There was going to be an easter party, the early church needed to entrench itself in what traditions weren't going to go away. The same thing happened with "Christmas".
