I don't think Alex Jones is supposed to be satirical, like the Colbert Report. I only know about him through Secular Talk, where Kyle says sometimes he makes sense, but sometimes he goes off the deep end.

I have a friend who knows Alex Jones and swears that he believes the stuff he says. I'd be surprised that you could do a show like his without believing at least some of it.

Ha! I love it.

If he is lying, which I've suspected for years (though I don't believe it), I applaud him for taking advantage of the conspiracy nuts. More power to him. Gotta disagree with a lot of you guys on that. I feel the same way about it as I do someone losing all their money and possessions to a cult. It's on you for being a fucking idiot, because I know that would never happen to me. I spend my money on pointless shit sometimes but I am at least aware that I'm doing it. I am a Satanist but if the Church of Satan started asking me for all kinds of money and shit I'd tell them to go fuck themselves. 

If he's not lying this is simply the best case the defense can come up with. I think he really does believe his shit. Problem with it is, he might tell a story with 75% truth then 25% whacko conspiracy shit, so I suppose, for uninformed people eager to believe in conspiracy theories, I can see why a lot of people fall for it and can understand how he can be seen as an unstable person. I'm sure Alex Jones has trial money on top of trial money though, I wonder how much the wife is going to try and fight him for.

There's money to be made here: If he wins he's a hero who'll further stir his base, and if he loses he's the victim of a plot to get him.

No matter what happens, he can and will monetize the outcome ... because that is his real schtick.

Well, if he's telling the truth now that the Alex on the radio isn't the real Alex, it makes a lot of sense that he'd go this hardcore just to see how fucked up he (and we) can get.
