Islam, a growing threat to the free world?

What a shame that the most famous writers of Christian theology throughout the ages, from Augustine to Luther, and the leaders that inspired both Catholic and Protestant sects, from Torquemada to the Salem witch hunters, didn't have your insight into the true teachings of the Bible. How could they have been so blind that for nearly 2000 years they'd gotten it all wrong? Well, at least your here now and better late than never, right?
Atheist Forums Hall of Shame:
"The trinity can be equated to having your cake and eating it too." ... -Lucent, trying to defend the Trinity concept "(Yahweh's) actions are good because (Yahweh) is the ultimate standard of goodness. That’s not begging the question" ... -Statler Waldorf, Christian apologist
Pity the "Liberal" or "Moderate" interpretation of Christianity is horseshit too.

Yes, because the vast majority of Christians believe in an ancient, outdated and poorly interpreted version of Christianity. But I would also argue against a modern, up-to-date, and properly interpreted version of Christianity. How anyone can believe woo-woo nonsense like a virgin birth, healing the sick with a touch of a hand, walking on water and rising up from the dead (especially when there is zero evidence for any of it) simply escapes me.
Science flies us to the moon and stars. Religion flies us into buildings.
God allowed 200,000 people to die in an earthquake. So what makes you think he cares about YOUR problems? One would think a divinely inspired religion would not suffer such shabby earthly fates as early obsolescence, and the loving diety at the heart of it would have studied his own creation, recognized the unfortunate propensity to misinterpretation that somehow slipped into his intelligent design, and had chosen a less error prone method of communicating what the correct version of Christianity should be. Never mind we killed countless millions in the name of god before, we are much better than you now. RE: Islam, a growing threat to the free world?

One more thing:

(pause for effect) ...(a religion supposedly inspired by God in the first place). (pause for effect) So God didn't get it right the first time? Or perhaps the world changed in some way that God could not foresee? Or is the Word of God supposed to be relative to the day and age in which we live, as if human culture of the day is far greater than the wisdom of the Creator? And you say I need to think? EDIT TO ADD: Apologiest to Chuck. It looks like you posted the same thing right above me. I didn't see it when I started to post similar thoughts to yours.

A Christianity that is up-to-date would have no Christ in it, only a preacher named Jesus to serve as an example of severe multiple psychiatric disorders, a group of apostles to serve as a warning about gullibility, and an ethnocentric off-kilter bronze age desert beduoin creation myth for entertainment value and historic interest. May be you can point me to such a respectable modern version of Christianity?
I do agree with the sentiment. I think Watson needs to let us know whenabouts Christianity started being *in date*.
