Part of the lesson in the play is that Julius Caesar is just as much the enemy of democracy as Brutus and Cassius. It is using art as a lesson we can all learn in the present political climate. Even though the man in power is a tyrant, killing him makes you as bad or worse than the tyrant. Point 2 - They did, just in print. The actual depiction isn't really necessary for it to get you all ruffled, is it?

I does not surprise me he doesn't get it . After all he follows a guy who never reads . And I doubt he has the patients for a play.
As for Obama if at any point he acted like a tyrant .Or his critics had any interest in democracy .You may have had a point.
