Also, I just realized I never mentioned MacBird. It was a 1967 play that riffed on The Scottish Play with LBJ as Macbeth, JFK as King Duncan, and RFK as MacDuff. It was, needless to say, even more pointed than the Julius Caesar production in the OP, with only the name changes separating them from a potential libel suit. So, there is precedent. I can't find video of the production, but apparently, it was recorded and released on an LP, but I can't find the Audio.
