You would really do those kids a fucking disservice by teaching such non sense. What if someone decided that was actually fact? They would be really fucked!

I don't know how your country does things but in primary school (a Catholic one, funnily enough) and then later high school (non-religious) I was taught different theories, including evolution and creationism. We also got taught the basics about various religions, denominations and even atheism as discussed.

I do not see the problem with that.

Were you taught creationism as fact? Or just that some religious people believe that and that it's really not factual? Because it makes a difference.

We were taught that it is a theory, encouraged to make up our own minds about it and told that we should respect the beliefs of others.

Yeah, sorry, but it's not even a theory. It's just a way Christians use an explanation as to how we got here. This explanation is no longer needed because of something called science that not only destroys that "theory" but tells us a different story. At the end of the day, Creationism should NEVER be taught in schools. But if it is, it really should be noted at how silly it is and that it is not scientifically factual.

I even had an Evolutionary Psychology professor talk about it. He then however told us how scientifically inaccurate it is. And guess what? He's a Christian. *gasp* He even grew up in a trailer park. He opened the class stating he was trailer trash. lol

To quote creationists:

Gravity, electrons, evolution, flat earth, etc.
They're all theories!

No one can ever know what is really really true because facts are based on the scientific method, which of course is just another theory of explaining nature accurately!

Kids go to school to learn. Teachers don't generally give multiple choice subjects and say "there you go, sort it out amongst yourselves". That's why the lessons are held in classrooms, not debate rooms. Science classes should be for science; religion belongs in religious lessons.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

I do not see the problem with that.

Evolution is a scientific principle, creationism is a political dogma. They don't belong in the same classroom.

Bullshit. You're Scottish and barely eighteen, if that. Creatardism has not been part of the UK curriculum for more than fifty years now and is not allowed to be taught in schools where you can gain a recognised qualification from.
