They're still all selling something old, worn, used, and won't get them far.
Religions were invented to impress and dupe illiterate, superstitious stone-age peasants. So in this modern, enlightened age of information, what's your excuse? Or are you saying with all your advantages, you were still tricked as easily as those early humans?

I do when they know full well what the defects are and try to lie about it.

Having read it and even contributed, I am absolutely convinced that WLC is a narcissistic sociopath. Just read the section on Craig's "quote mining" of the late physicist John Bell.
I don't think he's a narcissist or a sociopath.
I think he's a fraud who doesn't give a fuck and is trying to make money and may or may not believe the utter shit he says.

It's hard to tell the difference, but here is the DSM-V criteria:
Quote:[*]Having an exaggerated sense of self-importance
[*]Expecting to be recognized as superior even without achievements that warrant it
[*]Exaggerating your achievements and talents
[*]Being preoccupied with fantasies about success, power, brilliance, beauty or the perfect mate
[*]Believing that you are superior and can only be understood by or associate with equally special people
[*]Requiring constant admiration
[*]Having a sense of entitlement
[*]Expecting special favors and unquestioning compliance with your expectations
[*]Taking advantage of others to get what you want
[*]Having an inability or unwillingness to recognize the needs and feelings of others
[*]Being envious of others and believing others envy you
[*]Behaving in an arrogant or haughty manner
[*]

Of those I have highlighted in bold are clearly indicative of Craig. As for the others, they would have to be ascertained from those who know him personally.

Yeah but..... I think that it's a matter of degree. I think any immoral person can have that criteria. But I don't think any immoral person= a sociopath.
Any criminal or bad person is going to take advantage of people, act arrogant, often become arrogant and exaggerate their acheivements, etc.
Whether they are a sociopath or not is a matter of degree.
I think he's a shitty person. But I'm probably more sociopathic than he is, despite not being a bad person. I don't have TWO of those criteria.... namely, I don't take advantage of people, in fact I am quite vulnerable and others often take advantage of me, and I also certainly DO recognize the needs of others. But I have ALL the other criteria. Does that make me sociopath? I think not, it's a matter of degree. I have all the others in a mild degree and OTHER PEOPLE take advantage of me and I am attentive to the needs of others (for selfish reasons).
I think having one of those criteria to an extreme extent means more than having even all of them together.

You are not a sociopath. For starters, you do not lie about other people, something that Craig does constantly. In this respect, I should have highlighted "Having an inability or unwillingness to recognize the needs and feelings of others" (which I will fix), because Craig, clearly, does not care about other human beings' feelings.

I kind of have O.C.D. or some form of autism preventing me from lying though. I'm phobic of lying.
I think he's a shitty person but I don't think he's extreme enough to be a sociopath at all.
I think Donald Trump may be a sociopath. But I'm not even sure he's quite at that level. Certainly a shitty manipulative person.
I think sociopathy is on a much more fucked up extreme level.

I do think that Trump is also a narcissistic sociopath. He's lies constantly, gets even with others, does not care about others' feelings, skirts the Law, takes advantage of the system and others whenever he can (which explains why he has been sued several thousand times), can't maintain relationships (which is why he has been divorced twice and his current wife hates him), given to fits of rage (his recent threats to drop the Big One), grandiose in his behavior, needs to have constant attention, ignores expert advice (see my eclipse thread!), etc.

See........ if that qualifies as sociopathy then I think think sociopathy is extremely common. Much more common than psychiatrists say......
If you're gonna ignore matters of degree, I mean.
By the way... your thinking that I'm not a sociopath when you don't even know me, works considerably well to my advantage.... because if people believe that a sociopath never admits to being a sociopath.... then that's a useful loophole for the sociopath, no? And of course, I wouldn't say THAT if I was sociopath either
Basically.... the fact that I don't consider them evil enough SHOULD tell you something
