Hurricane Harvey
RE: Hurricane Harvey
Why are hurricanes often given such friendly and quite normal names?

I think "Hurricane Dangerous Bastard" would be much more apt.

But each name applies to someone's ex. It works.

Near the coast? All year lol

No but I would say around now is when it starts because I'm getting eaten alive. Usually it's a little later in September but because of the hurricane it's cooler than it normally is. It's in the low 90's whereas last year the middle of September was still mid to high 90's. Then they go away from November until about the end of February since March is warm enough for them again. Usually around June it's too hot for them.

Oh boy, more Zika, Dengue, West Nile and St Louis E. Grab your DEET.

I guess in the big picture this is only a minor concern but my brain liked it.

If fast moving waters were a problem, the remaining still waters are a mosquito heaven. Gotta watch out for those vectors.

I thought it was only fairly recently that they started naming storms by male names - they used to be only female names...

Ah I see.

Everyone watch out for Hurricane Jamie-Lee when she comes then, because she's a real nasty cunt.

3 years ago I was recuperating from West Nile Fever.  Miserable experience, thinking of it frequently now, and knowing 3 years ago, I still had some months to go to fully get over it.  Sheesh, it was awful.  Sickest I've been as a grownup, and that's as a grownup who's had the ecoli that kills people, twice.

WEAR YOUR DEET, PEOPLE !!!!

That was 92 ... my USAF fire station deployed six firefighters to help with the recovery. And yes, it was a shit sandwich.
