There are towns in the US overrun by deer and increasingly..by coyotes and coy-wolves.  As it so happens, they like the same sorts of manicured landscapes we do.  Ohio has an urban deer unit (they used to have an annual shoot in Columbus parks - but they don't do that anymore, pewpewpew).  Archers that use stands to hunt deer in the city parks and streets.  They call it the UDP.  

I want in on that action sooo bad.

@Sama, I love dropping brush for fish and game.....that way I don't have to waste time finding the big bass and crappie. Never been on a controlled shoot though. I'd be a burden...I like to get the shot more than I like to take it anymore. I still buy the license and get in the tag lottery every year, though.

Atlas, you're looking for issues where there aren't any. A ton of innocent people and children just died. This isn't really the time to be trying to make yourself a victim.

I don't think that was his intent, but Muslims living in the west who are not violent like say ISIS do get vilified and treated with suspicion and think that was all he was saying, and we were simply saying nobody was ignoring that.

Kinda hard for him not to respond when for 5 yeas an orange asshole vilified all Muslims to the point of winning an election. 

My point is I don't care who gets violent with a firearm in America. We make too many firearms and they are way too easy to get. Yes we have had Muslims attack us sure, but we have far more white mass shooters in America and far more gun deaths caused by people born and raised here. 

I do see assholes like Trump and the producers at Fox when a terrorist event starts before we find out the identity I do see them hoping it is a Muslim so they can use that fear to sell their bullshit to gullible people.

He was simply pointing out that nobody should be taking it out on him because of what others might do. He is right about that.

But you did provide a legitimate use for guns, as if that legitimizes selling as it is done now.
There are a few legitimate uses for them... but, even those, I think should be left for the trained authorities.

I've been killing things since I was 19. I'm very good at it. Fish and Wildlife ask me to come on the thinning hunts. There aren't enough "trained authorities" to effectively thin the deer populations. If not kept in check they'd be the cause of who know how many deaths on our highways each year. 

As it stands, we have a detailed number for the deaths by firearms per year, huh?

Compare that with some 35 thousand dead on the roads every year... would a few deer cause an extra 10k fatalities?

My prime motivation is shooting Ma Deuce. A supersonic 1 ounce slug does interesting things to a coyote. And a certain state agency pays for the ammo.

I'm not going to tell you we don't have too many guns in the US, but I think that's focusing on the wrong thing.  It all falls apart at the point of sale.  Most guns, in the us, are currently in a cabinet or an attic gathering dust.  The guns commonly used in gun crime are often used in multiple crimes by multiple offenders...and they're a tiny fraction of the total guns made or sold.  The ATF even has metrics to describe the problem in excruciating detail.  They release a report called Firearms Trace Data.  You can get it here.
