One time Sam and I were coming home from seeing a film and we saw a small booklet on the floor. I was still a little naïf at this lark, but even then I knew a Chick tract when I saw one. It was the first I'd ever seen in the wild, and so far the only one. No, I don't remember which one it was, I didn't bother to look. It just went straight in the bin. There's free speech and then there's promoting hate groups.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

This clip explains my "venting" to ALL religions of ALL labels. I really do think most humans are decent and want to be non violent. But yea, I do think they mistake far too much of morality coming out of old mythological books. So this is how I feel about even those religious people, my friends and family when they make claims about the nature of reality.

In my case I don't mind, these people have to make a living too. Religion feeds a lot of people, they are just selling their product just like someone who would try to sell you a car or an insurance policy. They are extremely annoying I know, but they gotta eat too. As long as they don't break the law I have no problems with them.
If they hand me a flyer or try to tell me things about their religion I just say no thanks and have a nice day! I wouldn't dare give us atheists a bad reputation. Besides, there are not a lot of people like that anymore where I live, so it's not like they ruin my day or things like that.

I just find it funny that the de facto religion of the Western world still feels the need to hand shit out to people in person. I mean, like you say, we're well aware of the 'good' news. Moreover, it's nearly 2018... a fucking flyer isn't going to impress anyone in our era of hyper media.
Regarding the legality of such people passing out flyers, it's not as cut and dry as you think. If it's happening on private property (which a grocery store is, even if it's open to the general public), they don't have the right to be there to peddle their shit. Especially if they're making shoppers uncomfortable. In cases like this, you should request to speak to a manager and let them know that someone is using their ingress/egress point to spread a religion to the shoppers.
But, yeah, it's bullshit. If these people's religion was so strong and awesome, it would speak for itself. It wouldn't need people harassing people at shopping centers.
