On the wrong tract............
#21
RE: On the wrong tract............
I was looking at the notice board at work the other day. We're based on a obscure part of the a university campus. I saw an A4 print-out and some flyers to be taken away trying to refute evolution with all the usual religionist objections. I took it down and then started looking around campus for any more of them. Luckily it seems everyone else had taken them down as well.

I have no objection to religious groups advertising their business, I object to the deliberate propagating of ignorance.

Even my cab driver agreed with me that shit is annoying. Last week she also agreed with me that that the My Pillow add on TV was annoying, just like the "Head On" Chap Stick style Aspirin add back in the 90s annoyed everyone. Yea the shit annoys me, how you fucking stupidly come to the conclusion that I will or want to get  violent is absurd.

Come on, tell us the truth. How many of 'em pesky people have you knocked out? You're among friends!

How did I come to that conclusion? I don't know, you seem to be a very angry person. But I don't know you... you might be a serial killer or mother theresa behind your computer as far as I know. Sorry if I offended you. Smile

So admins, don't give this guy my IP address please! Thank you! Smile

Why are you trolling Brian? It points to a severe mental defficiency, that.

It's almost as if they desperately need to drive-by a captive audience, isn't it?
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

BTW, I just googled "chick tract heresy" and got 115,000 hits, so not all religious folks are on board with Chick Tracts being a route to Salvation. And even I would concur with some of the points being made. The Chick Tracts do contradict Holy Scripture at times and they must be checked against Scriptures by anyone handing them out or receiving them lest a significant grievous ERROR be made and a Chick Tract condemns yet another soul to eternal torment in Hell's lake of perpetual fire.

BEWARE !!!
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

Just now at Food Lion some idiot tried to hand me a religious tract while I was walking in, I walked past him and said, "There is no such thing as a magic man with super powers." I didn't hear a response, nor did I care, nor was I looking at him when I said it. I was out to shop and had a cab waiting on me.

Rude? No, rude is disturbing me when nobody asked you. I don't like any type of peddling like that. I am old enough to figure out where a church is if I want to. I also would not want you trying to sell me a vacuum cleaner or set of Time Life books or try to get me to sign up for a credit card.

You try to peddle that crap to me like that, I am going to do the same thing every time. "Go away, don't bother me."

We are starting to get a lot of people from Africa coming and I assume trying to tell me about jesus but despite the volume at which they screech whatever it is I cant make out anything.

Its quite intrusive when your out shopping and some starts bleating about something at you.

You can fix ignorance, you can't fix stupid.

Tinkety Tonk and down with the Nazis.

Your effort to evangelize in return is the only way my response would have differed from your own.  Since I would not be interested in receiving a bit of scripture I would simply have said "no thank you" without slowing down.  I don't know why it is important for you to share your thinking with them when you obviously don't have time to engage in a conversation.

It fits in with idea of religion being a behaviour altering parasite that drives the host to help it spread.

Or they know what they supposedly believe in is really a crock and what they are doing regarding the poster thing is some sort of distraction, a placebo.
It's amazing 'science' always seems to 'find' whatever it is funded for, and never the oppsite. Drich.

Like Cyberman, I've sometimes taken them, screwed them up, and thrown it back at them.

Last week I hobbled past the entrance to the NZ parliament and there were a couple of clowns pushing their crap onto people, inclyding children who wandered by.

When they tried to hand one to me, I simply said, "Perhaps you should keep your crap to yourself, and stop targeting kids with your imaginary friend!"
Dying to live, living to die.
