It has nothing to do with feelings. Welfare means giving something to someone. Taking less than you were before isn't giving. It's taking less. Yet, the left refers to a reduction in corporate tax rates as corporate welfare. That mindset just amazes me.

I have nothing against taxing businesses. On a personal level, it's how I make a living. I'm the last person who wants to see corporate taxation go away.

My conclusions are based on your words.  BTW, I grew up on a farm.  Thats why I know your talking shit.  Bloviating even.

Most of the people I work with "grew up on a farm"..and they're still at it, but...they're not making any money.  That's why people like me exist.  You're welcome.  Absolutely not contributing to the gdp in any way, lol.

Sounds like the forum version of fake news, to me.  I don't understand why you find it so difficult to believe that a subset of americans will not benefit from this tax plan, since it's public knowledge that precisely this subset of americans don't benefit from this tax plan.........

And so now your story changes again.  First you were going to lose income for your 'farm' because the poor assembly line workers wont be able to contribute to your beer money.  Now the people (who contribute to your beer money) are actually farming themselves and not making any money.  

But your not paying taxes cuz your using loopholes that your co-workers havent figured out yet, these co-workers who are your wife's underlings (I would assume making less than your wife) and yet, you have not lamented about your own wife having taken a hit via trump. 

I never said there is not a subset of people who will not benefit for this tax plan.  I disputed the presentation that you made, that you are personally connected to these people.  And the more you type, the more obvious it becomes that you have no personal knowledge of anyones tax position other than your own, which according to your own words, you wont be one of this alleged subset.

Being new here, I have to base a posters character on my own experiences with each of them.  Making shit up as you go strictly based on a political idealism rather than reality, is really not far removed from a typical believer psychology. Just saying...

Generally speaking..when peoples incomes are pinched - they cut luxury or status purchases.  For whatever godforsaken reason, people see things like fresh fish or direct produce as luxuries, and buying local as a status purchase.  They go back to the box of fishsticks and the vacuum packed salads.  


This can't be that difficult to figure out, what with your comprehensive experience of having grown up on a farm. It just so happens that my model depends on the demographic that will see a hit. OFC, my model isn't the only kind of business that will get pissed on, excuse me..bestowed the shining benefits of trickle down theory upon, for exactly that reason. Lemme splain it simple like.

1 The people who you believe exist, those who will take a hit from the tax "cut" buy things.
2 When they have less money, they buy less shit.
3 I sell them shit

Therefore, I will not be able to sell them as much shit. Got it? My niche- is- their income. Median income is how you determine whether or not a farm like mine is a prudent investment. It;s the single largest determining factor. How do I know this? I helped to create the data with the extension by partnerships and assessments of successful operations - as a road map for others. Now, obvs, It's my opinion that they should cut back elsewhere and spend twice as much of their money with me....but I know they won't, lol. I know this, because I only have half as many people signed up this year as last year - and the deadline is nine days away. If I were entirely reliant on csa subs, like many of the farms I've helped to establish, I'd be out of business. Now, I get that you think that trickle down economics somehow works, or that it raises all ships. That's just not true, not for my specific model..or, really...in general. There is no data to the contrary, and all evidence establishes precisely this.

Now, it would be nice if the very poor or the very rich were my target - if I could somehow force consumer behavior, but I can't. Lord knows I try. I'm constantly telling myself to set up for ebt, or, on the other end..to get entirely out of direct marketing and aim solely for restaurants. I'll probably spend this year focusing on the latter. I suppose that;s cynical, especially considering my pie-in-the-sky dreams of feeding every motherfucker on earth..but..when you're going to spend the time chasing money....you chase the people who have it, not the people who turn out their pockets for lint.

Doubtful, but, bringing it back round to the OP discussion.....I have never had a black csa customer.  Not once.  Not here, not in Alabama, not in Florida.  It;s slightly less surprising here since you rarely see anything but a white face...but it was an interesting tick in Talladega and Tampa Bay.  

On the one hand we might make comments about wealth and affluence in the general, and that might explain why CSA's are predominantly white..but on the other hand, it might be behavioral and social.  They're seen as a white persons thing.  A white liberal thing, even more specifically.  A white liberal suburban thing...narrowing it down.  A white liberal suburban thing that your mom does to brag to her fellow empty nesters come the book club meeting...thing.  

Which is a shame, but we're working on changing the reality of the model and peoples perceptions. I suppose I could pull up my files and rattle off exactly what percentage of respondents are minorities, there have been high profile success stories in urban reclamation projects...but they're the exception, not the norm.

For now, for me at least, we're extending the deadline for payment (we like to have em signed up by taxtime, and paid up before final frost)and increasing our number of work shares. Hopefully this allows people who are planning to have less money this year to either squre it away in their minds..or, if they just can't..trade a little bit of their time wandering around in the hot ass sun with me (they're useless, btw...just really bad at picking and packing..and they spend 80% of the time airing their political grievances at me..it is a movement, after all - yet another service I provide).

That, however..means that I will be purchasing less labor. See how it all trickles down real nice?
