There is no finite crime for which eternal punishment can be justified. The crime is against the eternal God and when the crime goes unforgiven, ie through Christ as savior, then the crime is never ending, thus an infinite crime needing an infinite punishment. Please explain why I would want revenge on someone who I do not know, nor did the person ever do anything to me. You need to remember that justice has always been about balancing the scales. GC
God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.
Infinite punishment, and of course, once it starts, no chance for redemption at that point.
Be anally birthing horned demons for Satan for all eternity, and then some. Better put that shrimp down. The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

Well, I guess it's just lucky for us that we don't sentence people to eternal punishment for crimes against our eternal state which that eternal state has not "forgiven"..because if we did..there wouldn't be any justice in this life -or- the next.
Personally, I'm not impressed with a "god" who charges people with the crime of not wanting to be his bff; regardless of whether he sentences them to eternal punishment or just a slap on the wrist. It's infantile either way. Far be it from me to suggest that this is more a reflection of the stunted minds of believers and their compulsive need for people to affirm their disgusting personal ticks...... than of any great and eternal god...because that would be heresy.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!
If someone said "I don't believe this Kevin fellow exists," I'm sure that someone would be able to provide pretty solid proof that, yes, I am here. Certainly better proof than any god enjoys.
But even if that person persisted in their disbelief of me, I wouldn't be so offended that I'd seek to punish them. I'd laugh, shrug, and go about my business like usual. That the disbelief of insignificant mortal creatures means anything to a god is laughable. I care not if the ants in my back yard notice my presence. I certainly don't want their worship, let alone want to spend eternity with them, or waste my time picking the 'good' ones from the 'bad' ones in order to do it. And what does it say about you that you like this abhorrent notion? You will likely come up with some nonsense justification like the ever trite"Hate the sin but not the sinner." which is another christian lie, or possibly that you are filled with regret and sadness that I and others like me will suffer eternal punishment which simply makes your god morally inferior to you. @ Kev.
IKR? My kids tells fairy tales about me to their friends on sleepovers. Just the uze..the sort of stuff that small children believe about their dads before they realize that we're human. It doesn't make me angry when their friends don't believe their stories, and I'm certainly not going to boot some kid out into the woods on account of being incredulous. I don;t set their hands on fire when they pilfer the cookie jar either..not for second, and certainly not for eternity. I'm always struck by the smallness of god, in the minds of the faithful.

We were made in his image. We very obviously have similar emotional states (gee, I wonder why? ). He has enemies, doles out punishment, etc. In every way, he's supposed to be relatable to us, yet powerful, much like how I would assume an ancient Middle Eastern father to be. So, when the "Wait until your father comes home!" threat is finally revealed, there's a powerful and visceral emotional response. From the outside looking in, we can identify it as merely a way for a tribe to keep as many members as possible from deserting the group without having to exert physical pressure/resources to do so. But for the people in that tribe, it apparently sparks a very real fear, and a desire to avoid it. |
