Sure, I would care...but it wouldn't change my opinion of the christian god, it could only reenforce it..so it doesn't actually matter whether or not it's true. I've told you before, I just can't bring myself to kill the better man..no matter how many virgins allah is offering in exchange.
@Scientists and philosophers
IDK..but they seem to have a better track record of resolving questions, and in the case of science they've had..what... a few centuries? Compare that to the endless span of time that the religious have been bullshitting us, themselves, and each other...with precisely zero to show for it. Yet,. they..and you..tell us "go read magic book"...as if we could expect anything different.

EDIT: Despite that, I'm not entirely sure where I'm supposedly wrong. Christians talk about their god being the Father all the time. Not just Jesus's father, but the father of all creation. It's not like I'm pulling the notion out of my ass... its your own metaphor.
Actually, what I noticed the most, was the description of sending those to hell, simply because they didn't believe.

Funny thing about christians and who they think does or doesn;t go to hell. It's been changing with every passing decade. The list just keeps getting smaller and smaller as christians find their own religious beliefs more and more unappealing.
We're already told -by some- that there is no hell to go to..or that, if there is, it's empty. I expect that to be the majority christian opinion by the time my kids have kids. Though, by that point..if we aren;t already at that point..the word "christian" will be little more than a term of art.

I'm going to die regardless of whether your demi-god exists. The only difference being whether or not I go out like a real human being or a craven whore. If that's supposed to be a cogent comparison I can rate it no higher than an epic jesus fail.
Why is it, btw, that you find it necesarry to deny demonstrable scientific facts? Why does that seem to be a requirement for christian belief with you? Are you under the impression that your religion would be less true, if science were more true? Conversely.....are you under the impression that your religion would be more true..if science were less true?

What is it, that you think you can demonstrate, that I deny? I'm a reasonable person, if you can demonstrate it for me.... unless it's extraordinary..... then we may need to move the goal posts to some vague arbitrary point, where you need to get your evidence to.
Does that sound fair?
Edit to add: I don't have any issues with science and religion together.

I don't see this as the case, and I don't understand where you get that from anything I said.... perhaps you are reading into it something that is not there.

You can go demonstrate it for yourself. You;ve always been able to do so. That;s how we establish a scientific fact. So..go, let wonder lead you to knowledge.

It sounds like a waste of my time that serves no purpose other than giving you something to say in deflection.

Lying to me is one thing..lying to yourself is just sad.

Fortunately for me, my doctor could demonstrate whether or not I had cancer, so I wouldn’t need to “believe just in case.”

Actually, I would think there would be a number of points of faith in that demonstration. Also, you didn't ask why you should believe, you asked "why should I care" which is an entirely different question.

I would care enough to find a new doctor if my doctor was..in fact, a shaman..babbling about the health of my eternal soul as he shook his bone rattle over my head.
