Georgia teen nails NRA after educator opens fire in their classroom: ‘I dare you to tell me arming teachers is safe’

A student who was in the classroom of a Georgia high school where a teacher opened fire in her classroom called out the National Rifle Association for backing plans that would arm teachers.

“My favorite teacher at Dalton high school just blockaded his door and proceeded to shoot,” the student, identified as Chondi on Twitter, wrote. “We had to run out The back of the school in the rain. Students were being trampled and screaming.”

Honestly, is there anything stupider than a southern gun nut?

Sounds like a teacher that wants to bring a gun to school for crazy person purposes already can.

I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer, but I can't understand how putting firearms into the hands of 720,000 (Trump's 20% wet dream) highly stressed, overworked, underpaid teachers is going to make kids any safer.

The objection of no teachers holding guns is based on the unspoken understanding that the risk posed by 'mass shooting at school' is very small.

But if we hypothetically knew for sure an unknown person was going to try and kill as many middle schoolers as possible at a specific school in Delaware, the solution would 100% include 'good guys with guns'.   


Re don't cure Cancer with Aids....you cure Cancer with Chemotherapy.  Chemotherapy is really awful.  But not as awful as dying of Cancer.  Sometimes a bad thing is needed to prevent a worse thing.  Again, it goes back to how big a threat mass school shootings actually are.

I don't think teachers should have guns.  But I'm just guessing.  If the frequency of the col/new/park type events went up, I think more extreme actions would have to be considered.  But at this point, I think arming a bunch of teachers is an overreaction to an overreaction.

The goal: 10 marshals (teachers trained to carry a gun) in every school, which would equate to 37,000 statewide. The state would cover the costs of background checks, drug testing, psychological exams and 132 hours of training. The bill does provide a one-time $500 stipend for those who volunteer to have a gun.

Woo boy!  $500, and they get to risk their lives to shoot a mass shooter in the event of an attack.  What a sweet deal that one time $500 bonus is.  

And of course they probably won't even provide the gun for the teachers, so that $500 bonus will be going toward a new glock.  Funny enough I think that's about what they sell for. $500.

At least they included a requirement for psychological exams.  Gee wonder why they don't do this to all people who just want to own a gun.

Meanwhile TODAY a GA teacher was arrested for firing a gun in a school.

AND my dad was a teacher, got drunk off his ass one day, fired his 38 TWICE with me in the room, in a very tiny townhouse. My late mom was a lifetime teacher and a mostly voting republican, even she thought arming teachers was bat shit insane. What are they going to do when a teacher snaps?

You mean like the good guy with a gun who stood outside the school with both thumbs up his arse while the  shooting was going on?  THAT good guy?  He really put a stop to the bad guy who was methodically killing people, didn't he?

Instead of protecting teachers they ask them to put their lives on the line? That's insane! Teachers already sacrifice enough for so little. Make the cops do their job right. That 19 year old psycho was making terroristic threats and the cops did nothing.
