Or, as Deadpool would say, "That's just lazy writing."

Not really as Star wars is a universe not just the films

Uh, it is for the nerds.

I liked it.

It was better than the original prequels, though that’s not saying much.

Definitely not on the same level as Rogue One and The Sequel Trilogy.

The mutiny was a bit strained, otherwise no major problem. I was hoping for a Porg named "Bess", but you can't have everything.

Yeah, how can we forget the mutiny that happened because the woman in charge didn't want to tell her (albeit demoted) second in command what the plan was. Not to mention two people going on a side mission that didn't need to happen, which leads to the enemy figuring out the escape pods are stealthed.

The thing that annoys me with the current trilogy, apart from the obvious, almost Trek class plot holes, is that they seem to be making a concerted effort to kill off the original heros.

Han then Luke.

I suspect we would have seen Princess Leia go the way of the dodo in the next movie if Carrie Fisher hadn't died.

Have to admit I want to see Poe Dameron get it. He annoys me!

1. She didn't tell him because he didn't need to know . This is a military structure.

2. The side mission was shown to give the viewer an impression of the wider galaxy during this time . I argue it was central the the theme of the movie (hope )

But they die in revilvant ways

Han confronts his mistake
Luke confronts his mistake and becomes one with the force
There were no original plans to kill Leia .
Poe learns a valuable lesson about patience and trust .

I have yet to see any serious plot holes .

Well it is

The First Order destroys a solar system and destroys the Republic fleet?

Maybe the command centres and much of the structure, but the majority of the galaxy wide Republic's fleet?

And starkiller base. Is it capable of hyperspace travel or is it designed to be used only a couple of times in a binary star system?

Later novels and books may have answered those questions, but I haven't read them.
