Florida Stand Your Ground Shooting

I thought I would further bring attention to the stand your ground law by stating that no black man is going to use it against another black man.  Nor any white man against another white man.  So far, it has only been used by white bigoted white men against black people by killing the black man.

Or it could just be that the Media is more interested in use of the SYG law in white-on-black crime. To be fair, it does betray an alarming tolerance for white people killing black people, but there do seem to be occasional instances of the defense being used for other, less racially charged cases. It's not terribly easy to find them in news stories, but given that it's past midnight where I am, I don't feel like it at the moment, and I suspect those cases might be a bit dog-bites-man for the news sites (especially when compared to more racially charged cases that take up a lot of Google search results), that might be the reason.

I'm simply seeing an alarming progression toward something that will not end well.

Home defense is one thing. Stand your ground is taking it outside the home without the proper precautions or considerations necessary.

I don't know much about the stand your ground law.

The guy standing didn't take a step back directly after the shove though.  It looks like he shoves, takes two steps forward.  He pulls up his shorts which could be body language for preparing to fight or it could just be the shorts are falling from the marching forward at a pace and shoving.  He looks like he gets scared upon seeing the gun sort of midway through the shorts being pulled up and takes some steps back.  He gets shot, takes more steps back and goes in the shop. 

I think the guy on the floor could have probably just relied on scaring the guy with the gun rather than having to shoot him, it looks like the guy standing was going to fight until he saw the gun. 
It's difficult to judge distance from that camera though, the guy standing might have still be close enough to fight and it depends what was being said between the two people.

So in Florida a white man gets pushed and kills a black man over a parking spot.  No charges.  Not even arrested.

Threatened by her ex-husband against whom she had orders of protection but still charged for shooting him when he came after her. It seems that the Alabama law has a codicil that says "does not apply to niggers if they are holding the gun!"

Yeah, if you’re going to make any attempt at justifying your law, be consistent about the sentencing: if a black woman has no right to kill her abusive husband, then the white guy has no right to kill a black guy who threw him to the ground over a parking spot.

Really, there’s right and wrong and then there’s the law. And sometimes you can’t reconcile the two without your head exploding.
