So i need to go through this again  Dodgy

It's entirely up to you what you go through again.

I can't realistically prove a negative, that he never said anything that you claim.  You could prove your positive claim by posting a video or citing a quote from Peterson.

I listened to one interview which sort of goes near one of the subjects you mention.  The interviewer asks something like "So you're saying that make up is a sexual expression therefore whatever happens happens"  Peterson replies by saying "No I'm not saying whatever happens will happen, I'm just saying the first bit, that make up is a sexual expression."

Are you ready for the fire? We are firemen. WE ARE FIREMEN! The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them.

Impersonation is treason.

He did, at least the first bit.  Back in the 90's he did good work on personality traits..which is his area of expertise.  However..he was a nobody until october of 2016, lol.  He made ripples by opposing a transgender initiative being proposed in canada...imagining that it was an assault on free speech and that the government would haul him away to a gulag for refusing to say she, or he, or whatever some transgender person preferred.  This was, ofc, not the case.  He went viral on yuoutube baiting people and then sitting back to harvest angry tears, aka "pwning the libs".. lol. He then gave a lecture titled:

"Identity Politics and The Marxist Lie of White Male Privilege" in which he layed out his master thesis.

That the world was full of cryptomarxists intent on gulaging everyone, dominance was natural, and we should revert to those social structures he felt nostalgic about. He became the intellectual face of white male anxiety. He's not within his area of expertise, at all..when discussing those things that his fans are most engaged in..but the fact that he is/was an academic is a legitimizing device.

And the truth is more then on my side which yet another reason you need apologetics .And your hysterical false claims of my supposed hysterics just makes your hysterics all the funnier.

You literally just make shit up, and have been caught doing so repeatedly. If this is not so, then link any video clip of him saying that women who wear makeup should not be allowed to complain about sexual assault.

You can call him a cult leader, or call me an apologetic. That's because it's easier for you to parrot smears than either to learn or to develop ideas of your own. But right now, the fact is that you're making shit up, and until you are willing to come back to the world of factual statements, you're a liar.

Almost as though the good feedback he gets on some points leads him to over rate various other biases and quirks of his.

He may well be brilliant in other areas, I don't know. I've only sampled a small amount of his work so far. But he wrote this book, and it's an abomination. I've also watched him weasel his way out of answering theistic questions, and of course the "free speech" debacle. I find him disingenuous.

Huh. This one I didn't actually watch. I suppose the "Jordan Peterson doesn't understand friendship" is a more shocking one than "Jordan Peterson doesn't understand lobsters." I guess I'm more intrigued by cephalopodic life than crustacean. Also, I love it that he seems to have latched onto the lobster, of all creatures, as his metaphor for his preferred view of people. Maybe something that actually has a spine would undermine his preferred worldview. Or how different the bonobo, the closest nonhuman relative to homo sapiens, and therefore might be more relevant to humans, actually is.

Me too.  They are a very interesting creature on this planet.  Have you latched on to this one yet?

A friend gave me his paperback version when we were in D.C. earlier this year and I found it fascinating.  Early on he writes a chapter on the evolution from colonial clumps of single cell creatures on up to the present that was fascinating.

I am intrigued enough that, when the library opens up at noon, I'll check it out. Due to my OCD, I strongly prefer my books to be A) Hardcover and B) without those goddam deckle edges. I have been known to order UK editions of books specifically because those editions tend to have the good sense to make the edges look like they were properly trimmed (e.g. No Country for Old Men and Mystic River.) If nothing else, this will be a perfect opportunity to confirm it does. Sometimes, you can confirm this online (with sellers on eBay and Abebooks taking pictures of the edges.) I can't find it with this book now, but hopefully, I'll be able to confirm it within a second or two.

Just got back from the library. It fits my OCD pattern, so I'll be on the lookout for a proper copy at HPB. I just checked it out of the library.

As a Canadian, I want to see what happens when Peterson runs for Prime Minister.

I'd bet a million dollars on him to win if he did.

I would love that. I'm not willing to vote Conservative in 2019 as it stands, but I wish the Cons would get a leader who I could consider voting for so I'd have more options.

I would have to admit he'd probably be quite successful as a politician.
