You know better than the Cardinals that (with God's approval) elected him as pope ??
Some folks might want to suggest reviewing the term 'apostasy'. . . .
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

I'm married to one of his descendants but as far as I know she doesn't hold any Hun titles.

Titles don’t have a good track record in terms of their influence on the future quality of the gene pool it is tied to.

Resign, yes. And also receive whatever legal penalty comes with it, including jail time.

Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

His "denial" is very revealing. Instead of coming and saying that what Vigano is saying is wrong, or better yet showing some evidence to say it is wrong, he came out with a conspiracy theory line of "look at who's saying this. What does it serve him to say this?" At no point does Bergoglio say that what is alleged is false or a lie, at no point does he refute the allegation that he covered up sexual abuse by a cardinal.

Methinks we've got another pope as guilty as fuck. But then, with a man as close to the Argentinian junta as Bergoglio was, who is frankly surprised?

"If" is no longer in question. Get on with it.

Ok then he needs to resign. 🙄

No, no.  We need Alaric and the Goths or Geiseric and the Vandals.  Attila punked out...

Hmmm.....

https://www.nytimes.com/2018/08/27/world...ss&emc=rss

Quote:Vatican Power Struggle Bursts Into Open as Conservatives Pounce

Quote:Since the start of his papacy, Francis has infuriated Catholic traditionalists as he tries to nurture a more welcoming church and shift it away from culture war issues, whether abortion or homosexuality. “Who am I to judge?” the pope famously said, when asked about gay priests.

Just how angry his political and doctrinal enemies are became clear this weekend, when a caustic letter published by the Vatican’s former top diplomat in the United States blamed a “homosexual current” in the Vatican hierarchy for sexual abuse. It called for Francis’ resignation, accusing him of covering up for a disgraced cardinal, Theodore E. McCarrick.

This sort of reminds me of going to a boxing match and watching a couple of bums on the undercard.  You've never heard of either one of them and don't care who wins you just want to see them beat the ever-loving shit out of each other for a while.

You just shout "Hit him.... hit him again...." to no one in particular!

This is what I was referring to earlier regarding church politics. Pope Francis was more liberal, and a lot of the more conservative Catholics didn't like him at all for it.

This isn't to say he is innocent though. Whether or not he knew about McCarrick's child abuse allegations is yet to be determined.
