LOL! The apparent swelling of support among Hispanics for Trump is because, "Those fucking Hispanics that used to vote for Democrats were really Republicans all along!"

The hispanics being referred to and the hispanics that trumpian nativism appeals to were not dem voters in the first place. They are a portion of the hispanic demographic that has traditionally swung right. Do you understand?
Your linked article discusses people who have found some reason, any reason, to think that the president is doing something well - not people who indicated that they would vote for him, which remains at the national average.

The data crunchers regard them as non-white because they also identify as Hispanic, but non-white is NOT they regard themselves.
A great many of them will vote the way conservative whites do and favor Republican candidates and policies.
I imagine the apparent surge in support is most likely due to a corresponding surge in growth/numbers. As much as half being conservative?
IDK...Seems fairly plausible to me.
All I know is that it's pretty amusing to witness mainstream Dems scratching their heads and trying to figure out how any of this could have possibly have come to pass.
Oh, well. You guys will get there eventually.
That they are more conservative than other members of the Democratic base has been a given since the beginning of this discussion. I'm becoming pretty convinced that these slightly more conservative members of the Democratic base are being screamed out of the party by libtards and racists who hate them for being 'white adjacent'.
The Democrats big tent is shrinking.
Or MAYBE....there exists a large segment of Latinxs/Hispanics that truly are conservative and simply have no interest in being part of the Democratic base. You guys assume that they ALL identify as non-white or "other" just because Americans can't seem to grasp the difference between race and ethnicity/nationality and have deemed them as such. The solidarity that you imagine White Hispanics have with black and brown persons does not exist in ALL of their minds.
They're not necessarily being screamed out of the party. Some of them just aren't interested.

In that context, one might criticize the ineffectiveness of the d's to court those hispanic r's -into- the fold...but I don't know that it's reasonable to expect that anyone could talk a core republican or a trumpian nativist into voting blue, lol.

No, I'm not imagining that Latinos feel solidarity with brown and black people at all. You just inject your racial politics into everything. Socially liberal agendas are not the only reason for identifying with the Democratic Party. For the umpteenth time, a demographic that was pretty strongly opposed to Trump seems to be moving in his direction. It's a case of something changing. For over two years, libtards have been making the environment on the left toxic to anyone who doesn't 100% agree with them about absolutely everything. Now Hispanics are drifting away.
You can say that I'm just guessing. But nothing good has been said about Hispanics in this discussion. Everything that has been said about them has been a bit on the hostile side.

It would be very difficult to talk resolutely anti-communist Cubans into joining the Democratic Party.

It doesn't matter what reasons there might be for identifying with the democratic party. The demographic subset being referred to doesn't identify as a dem, or vote dem.
They are republicans voting republican, not dems crossing the fence.

Indeed and exactly. Additionally, an appeal to identity politics or interests isn't likely to change that..as they don't see themselves as non-white (or non-native..lol), and when they do..as core republican voters, they imagine themselves as being distinct from those other non-white non-native hispanics in miserable situations and reject association with them.
They.......are.........republicans.

Sorry, but you've given me no reason to believe that the increase in Latino support for Trump isn't being driven by an increase in Latino migration.
As far as can tell, you're just looking for any opportunity to go on yet another hysterical, unhinged rant about "libtards" and SJW's.
Lol...And you can whine and chastise me for injecting racial politics into this thread about MINORITY VOTING TRENDS all you want. If I feel it's relevant to the discussion I will bring it up.
I don't give a good goddamn if you don't like it.
