Unfortunately I think you are right and main stream media will be ignored.

You have me entirely backwards Mainstream media is totally corrupt, and acts as a propaganda machine under the guise of different free press outlets. This is the result of months of research on my part. The people who use mainstream to brainwash everyone are censoring the shit out of any alternate media so that we'll only be left with their narrative. More and more people are waking up to what MSM really is, so they’re now rapidly turning up the heat and silencing all opposition. We'll be like China soon enough, social credit systems and all.

Mainstream tells everyone why these countries need our "help" so everyone is happy when we go in and kick the shit out of whoever we want, and we replace their leaders with our own controlled goons. Everyone thinks it’s okay because these leaders are "evil", but guess who is telling everyone that? Mainstream media. It’s all a big scam, the systems are all corrupt to the core.

Of course alternative media isn’t automatically reliable; one has to do their own research if one cares about the truth. Many/most "alternative" journalists are controlled opposition. It’s a minefield of misinformation out there, and all anyone can do is focus on the evidence. Try not to take anyone’s word for anything, and examine what they present to back up their case. If it’s just hearsay or claims without anything to back them up, it’s probably propaganda. This is especially true about the mainstream.

If this all sounds weird to anyone, that’s no surprise. I had been brainwashed for 40 years and it was only a few chance opportunities that pricked the mental bubble I’ve been trapped in all this time, and finally I can see things for how they really are.

I’ve not had much/any success having discussions about this in public, as it’s always turned into me getting dogpiled, so if anyone wants to know more about what I’m talking about and the evidence, feel free to PM me.

in your world you can not fathom a media institution that has been corrupted, one sided or blatantly lies about the news? what about in russia, could the news be corrupt in russia? then why not here? why can the news be purchased here and used to propagate certain agendas?

For instance how many times did all the major news channels report trump would loose in a landslide? Now before you fire up your spin/excuse machine, know that even pro trump news sources said it was too close call.. So why would all the major new source polls their experts and everything else they could bring to bear try and manipulate the facts? A land slide if far from too close to call let alone being completely wrong and the opposite happening...

Then what about the economy?  Best this country has ever known with the unemployment numbers at a record breaking low and you only hear how obama's policies are just now being see in trumps administration. Also when was ISIS disbann? where are we in relation to north korea? what is the latest offer by them? when was the last terrorist attack, when was the last BLM demonstration/why did they stop?

Are none of these items news worth? you have to do an in depth google search to answer some of these questions.

That's only a part of it. They're popular because they're convenient, nominally "free", and tell people exactly what they want to hear in a way they find entertaining. And widespread use of social media as the source of news, only makes the "mainstream" media worse - because for the past 20 years, or more their budgets have been shrinking, meaning: they've had to cut jobs - especially un-cool, specialist jobs, like science reporters - and have to rely more and more on paid promotion and sensationalist click-bait in order to compete for attention of the masses.

Yes, there is a problem with media. But burning it down won't solve it. And Trumps of the world would love nothing more, than for mainstream media to become irrelevant. Because even Trump can't shut down "failing NY Times", but a Youtube channel, or a Facebook account can be disappeared overnight, without as much as a warning.

Some are quite corrupt and put their own spin on stuff, fox being basically a propaganda arm of the Trump government. But even they are held to task by others because we know who they are. Mean while non-mainstream media are mainly crackpots with an agenda.

Thanks for telling me what to think. Of course news agencies xan be corrupted and used to serve evil. I have seen fox. BUT outside of tyrannies they are called to account and their views exposed by other news agencies.

Again I have seen fox news and they are truly evil however they SPIN the news. On the whole it is not whole fictitious and that is what the non-mainstream media do, they just make shit up and present it as fact.

Actually your country is quite badly off financially, What Trump has done is use every tactic to boost the economy usually reserved for when a country is in crisis leaving you with no where to go when a crisis hits, and the world is due a few with Brexit, trade wars and deregulation that always leads to crashes. So there's that.
And the only people really doing well are the rich, people such as Trump.
