Every study/report I've ever read comes to the same conclusion: immigrants and refugees are a net benefit to the economy. Why be in opposition to accepting them?

You asked how open borders can streamline the laws and the process. These are the answers.

If the only way for you to get to work was by being smuggled there in the trunk of s car (lol) that’s what you’d do.

I’ve got a fun way to contextualize open borders, and even open immigration. Florida and Georgia have both, with each other.

If this were such a grave threat to either state........we might have noticed by now.

But, instead, understanding that allowing people to freely move between the two benefits all parties...we do the smart thing. If anyone suggested that we militarize the border between them and set up camps and people were screaming to high heaven about peach and orange truck invasions,......we’d think they were fucking loons.

I am sceptical about letting about everyone in, but whatever your immigration policy is: If your implementation is to violate the according peoples´dignity and human rights, then you have lost the moral high ground to complain abut everybody elses policies (namely those shithole countries you are looking down upon).

No, YOU are needlessly splitting hairs. I'm the one sitting here saying I completely think we need reform on our immigration policies but you want to debate about one thing in my statement that you happen to disagree with. We're on the same side, I'm not going to bicker with you.

Plenty of countries have very harsh attitudes about Americans, or foreigners in general, coming to their country. Some even more so then here. They may not have the legal power to back up their sentiments, but plenty of other countries, via their countrymen and countrywomen, express great disdain for foreigners coming into their countries.

I, on the other hand, don't care. I'm not going to get into the weeds with you guys. The point is, I am totally fine with people from other countries coming here, so long as they do so legally. We can't just have people strolling in as they please with complete disregard of how our processes to take new people into the country work.

I think some exceptions can be made for people who are fleeing actively dangerous and potential fatal situations. But we cannot have people moving across borders with no restrictions or documentation.

I think that our own complete disregard for our laws is s more pressing issue than a bunch of poor shamblers.

I never claimed that stopping "poor shamblers" (shamblers is not a word, btw) was our main priority or that it should be. We have a serious problem with the Trump admin continuing to split apart families when they were expressly told not to. Especially after finding out that some of the people being separated from their kids were separated because of arrests (with no convictions, mind you) made over 10, 15, sometimes 20 years ago.

It's an absolute disgrace.
