In all seriousness. I cried this morning when I first heard he died.

Having been bullied as a kid, as an adult, watching him in congress standing up to power with such compassion served as a reminder that there are good people in the world.  I remember cheering at the congressional hearing when he blasted the official over sanitary conditions for migrant kids.

It is standard ritual for flags to be put at half staff when members of congress die. I am nauseated seeing the flag at the White House at half staff, knowing the fucker doesn't mean it.

LOL, funny you should mention cats. A few weeks ago, I had a skype chat with Hillbilly Atheist talking about the "what if" I die, what I wanted him to do. And he rightfully brought up the fact, that as much as I love my cat, if I die tonight, and nobody comes around for days, he'd probably get so desperate for food and eat me.

And that is not a stretch. I saw on nature documentary, where a lady ran a tiger rescue, which was found out after the fact, was lacking funds to properly feed them every day, went into a cage one day and got mauled and killed by the tiger. It wasn't that the tiger wanted to do it, but in that it was saying, "I AM DESPERATE".

Dude! Put a small sign above your mailbox, or on the door.

"If mail is not picked up for three days please ask the police to do a health and safety check."

That can fit on a 3x5 card that you can laminate.

The global market regardless of industry or nation, has to face that all 7 billion of us still share one home and money and power cannot be the sole motivator to human progress. Class isn't a species, humans are all we have in common.

I am quite confident that both Elijah and MLK would agree.
