Yeah, they are virtually useless and not an asset but a liability to US economy.

On what do you base these made-up statements?

Sigh. My sister shared a meme that referred to Trump as 'the father of our nation'. In her defense, she's living in Florida.

The basis of the following:

A: Being an obvious troll
B: Missing a large portion of his brain
C: Being an obvious troll who needs FSM in his life.
D: All of the above
E: Trade-in Ditzy1983 for what's behind curtain number 3

I understand them a little, but my work with the mentally ill and the wilfully stupid is limited.

It is a cult. People for some reason feel connection towards Trump, they feel everything he does is great, they imagine him doing stuff he didn't do, they see him as persecuted and they would rather blame whole world than him. And it is as some sort of hypnosis that usually happens in a religion.

For instance there's a new documentary on poverty in US and you can see that most of those people are Trump followers. And although he is making their lives worse, like in Appalachia where most people live of food stamps and Trump wants to ban food stamps, people defend him with "He's a billionaire, he is close to his family."
https://youtu.be/JHDkALRz5Rk

Now why is that I can only guess. Maybe they see themselves in him since Trump is white trash, but the reason he is so uneducated and behaves like a hick is because he never had to work at anything: he always had assistants who will do his homework, paying teachers to give him passing grades, then other people who will work and make decisions while he fucks around, eats junk food and plays golf. But of course, the reason his supporters ended up dumb and yokel is because of lack of opportunities in life, while, on the other hand, he had all the opportunities that they could only dream about, but he was too lazy.

So when they say "He's a billionaire" they probably mean "He's a billionaire white trash" and that gives them hope because, as white trash themselves, they hope they'll become billionaires like him.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

Have you ever read What’s the Matter with Kansas? it was written in 2004, and it’s specifically pursues the question of why the poorest parts of America. The answer, as Thomas Frank sees it:

Quote: : In order to explain to the "Cons" why no progress gets made on these issues, politicians and pundits point their fingers to a "liberal elite," a straw man representing everything that conservatism is not. When reasons are given, they eschew economic reasons in favor of accusing this elite of simply hating America, or having a desire to harm "average" Americans. This theme of victimization by these "elites" is pervasive in conservative literature, despite the fact that at the time conservatives controlled all three branches of government, were being served by an extensive media devoted only to conservative ideology, and had won 6 of the previous 9 presidential elections.

And it really helps that the Republicans really know how to pander to these, well, I’ll let Gene Wilder say it:

Careful with all of that "majority" talk, and shitting on labor? Dmitry. President Popular Vote Loser and his army of welfare queening labor deplorables might hear you.

Can't believe I missed this thread after the start, lol. I loved the list of likable things about trump from Lek, earlier. Seven items, two are another persons works and five never happened. That's impressive.

I know, lol. It's so meaningless, in fact...that even though a republican has won the pop vote just once in the last thirty years, the federal government is clogged to the gills with GOP appointees.

That's not a rule by the people in any sense.
