I'm operating on the assumption that Kobe isn't a craven and pointless liar, what else am I supposed to say?

Typical - a door opens and Smuggy barges through to make it all about race.
I'd have expected nothing less.
Men, women, and children of different races died in a horrible crash. That's what this thread is about. It just so happens that had it been nine random people no one had ever heard of outside of their circle, no one would have any idea that helicopter went down.
Now we make it about race and a broken legal system instead of about the unexpected loss of lives.

You're right, literally no one has ever confessed to something they didn't do. 
Why do you assume that statement was made sincerely from Kobe's heart, when it is clearly a prepared statement given to Kobe by his lawyers?

My point was IF people confess, or accept plea deals for crimes they didn't commit, why do you believe Kobe's statement is somehow a moment of introspection and not just a statement prepared for him and directed to repeat by his lawyers?
