I know, right? You have to know what a Serious thread entails, you have to make a deliberate, conscious effort to tag it, and then you have to break the ‘no insult’ rule - in a thread you wanted to be insult-free.
I’m exhausted just thinking about it.

My initial response would get me banned, too.

Even if our Universe was indeed created by someone (in an experiment, as a by-product or just for fun) it doesn't seem that they are particularly interested in dabbling with it, let alone with our humble planet. Speaking of Religion's view on this question, I find it too naive. Religions, at least the mainstream ones, are too centered around human day-to-day problems and dealing with death.
I tried to be a religious person for a period of time but it just didn't feel right. Eventually I found it too boring and ridiculous and bordering on mere superstition. And completely unnecessary.

And what about embarrassed? Where you ever embarrassed for believing or making people think you believe in fairytales?
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"
