Minneapolis Abolish Police

RE: Minneapolis Abolish Police
Fine, good cops would never ever want to work with a better model. Kindof damages their good cop cred, if you ask me. If they're not empowered to execute a motherfucker in the streets, they'll go somewhere else where they are.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

You are a cartoon.

..

Your disparaging of police because there are some bad cops in the ranks is as wrong, pigheaded and tiresome as a Klansman saying all blacks are criminals because a few are.

That will be reorganize police, not abolish. I don't have much of an issue with that.

We need a better idea of what is being proposed.

And one bad cop will get them all fired AGAIN. I wouldn't blame any of them for moving on.

We don't know the plan yet

Fact of the matter is none of us know what will happen . I'm trying to keep an open mind on the subject . Will see if crime rates go up or not .

By process of elimination- there will always be "the worst cop"....

Unfortunately some people think that guy is all cops...

The issue isn’t a bad cop here or a bad cop there. The issue is a law enforcement culture that protects those bad cops. Until the system is abolished - or at least rebuilt from the ground up - deaths like Floyd’s will go on and on and on.

Yes there will be bad cops because there are bad people. The problem here is that the good cops are Good “despite” their training and arsenal. There are cops who always use their cams but the system they are in prevents the necessary transparency. The types of physical enforcement techniques trained to them are great tools to have, if u r in a war, not against your own citizens, and not when reason and compassion are excluded.

It’s blatantly apparent that there are good cops and bad cops, but the system stifles the good and protects the bad, and thus needs reform. Much like the Catholic Church, senate, etc.
"There ought to be a term that would designate those who actually follow the teachings of Jesus, since the word 'Christian' has been largely divorced from those teachings, and so polluted by fundamentalists that it has come to connote their polar opposite: intolerance, vindictive hatred, and bigotry." -- Philip Stater, Huffington Post

Speaking of reform, why is it so hard to achieve?

Nothing good or necessary should be difficult to achieve. Rather, it is ignorant people who want things to remain as it selfishly suits them rather than see a positive change that benefits all.
