Do you really think that if it comes to some gun reforms that the government will take away guns from licensed hunters?

Biden heard the largest civil rights movement in decades and decided to pick the woman who systematically locked up nonviolent drug offenders, fought to release fewer prisoners (even after the Supreme Court found that overcrowding in California prisons was so bad that it amounted to unconstitutional cruel and unusual punishment), and enforced a state truancy law that resulted in impoverished parents being jailed? I guess there was no real good choice here. But at least he secured the key swing state of... California.

There may be a lot of swingers in California, but it consistently votes blue. Didn't need Harris to get that vote.

She's smart, qualified, photogenic, the right shade of lipstick and the right (very binary) gender. She seems like a great choice, for biden, and we can credit the field with having at least a few good choices. Kamalas a kop, and guess that sucks for dems...but moderates and dem leaning conservatives loooove them some cops. Kinda deflates the whole "they're the ticket of anarchy and lawlessness" song and dance, too.

After reading up on her, she seems like a damned good choice - there’s very little for the right to attack her on, she’s experienced, she’s articulate, and she’s scary smart. As a centrist, she’s not going to appeal to progressives, but that doesn’t matter much, as Biden doesn’t need them to win. OLB is correct that NRA types won’t like her, but not enough of them were going to vote for Biden to matter anyway.
What she’s going to do for the ticket is to solidify establishment Democrats and very likely cut into Trump’s support among liberal Republicans. And as a sitting Senator, her being on the ticket makes it somewhat more likely that the Senate will flip.
Looks like a very well thought out choice.
