California High Capacity Magazine Ban Shot Down.

RE: California High Capacity Magazine Ban Shot Down.
Make all guns single shot and you don't have to worry about magazine capacity. Of course if you can't hit what you're aiming at then more bullets would be a crutch.

I'm sure there were cavemen that sharpening a stick was an unnecessary thing.

Earp was a six-shooter guy, and he was old and cranky at the time. I just thought it was a funny comment.

Personally, I really don’t  have an issue with high-capacity magazines as a general thing. The great majority of people who have them aren’t the problem. That’s to say, I doubt very much that mass shootings will increase simply because of the availability of a particular piece of hardware.

I've talked this over with a couple first responders - and the scenario that scares the shit out of them is close quarters with lotsa victims and a couple of guys with riot shotguns with low light optics....

At close range (under 50 meters) a shotgun with light buckshot is devastating. (The Germans felt a shotgun violated the Geneva accord....)

The fact they have enough ammo to carry out a mass shooting so by how much really doesn't matter

Mass shooters are hardly Nobel prize winners

Quote:With high caps they shoot a bunch of holes in ceilings - and run out unexpectedly.
Or a group of people

Quote:With 10 round (or smaller) they tend to aim more and keep better track of rounds expended.
Or just kill at closer range

Quote:Banning high cap mags is just kneejerk stupid legislation.
Still better then anything you have come up with your knee jerk posting

(Emphasis mine)

Yup, at the same time they were themselves using mustard gas and chlorine gas, not to mention saw-toothed bayonets.

Oh, those wacky Germans.

What's wrong with a sawtooth bayonette?

It primary purpose is cutting barbed wire....

....

And honestly - I doubt anyone would notice the difference with one stuck in their
chest....
