How do Christians imagine 2nd coming of Jesus?

RE: How do Christians imagine 2nd coming of Jesus?
Don't they realize that Jesus has already returned and he's presently living in South Park, CO?  Naughty

Well, if Revelations is to be trusted, first the Anti-Christ has to make his appearance, ushering in so many years of tribulation before Jesus can officially return.

Christians trust Revelations implicitly. It's all they ever talk about.

I see it as someone who blathered on and on while on shrooms.

Not bad for one man's recounting of a bad shroom trip, though. I think the earliest chrietian leaders at Nicaea realised this and it wasn't canon for a long time, only being snuck in at a later date.

Or do they imagine that one day they will hear horns from the sky, and then giant Jesus will show up in the sky and destroy unbelievers in him with a laser from his eyes?

Or maybe some other way? I know there is that series of novels called “Left Behind” where Christians suddenly disappear, but then it goes on and on—doesn’t seem very coherent, and does Jesus even show up there?

read the book of revelation.  here is an out line:

They say that Jesus returns when and to the extent that people act in a Christlike manner.

So St. Theresa of Avila says "Christ has no body now but yours."

And William Blake's famous poem, called "Jerusalem" by most people, has the same message. The first half asks "did Jesus ever come to England?" but doesn't offer an answer, because myths are not about historical events but moral ambitions. And the second half says "I will do my best to be Christlike."

Blake (and other mystics) don't expect a dramatic one-event return in the future. To them it is an ongoing possibility in the life of individuals. Which is how teaching through myths generally works.

The loveliness of mental obnubilation, as wistfully recounted by one who resents his own brain, dead for all practical purposes,  for not being dead enough for his own taste.

It's why every time something dramatic happens like a natural disaster or a school shooting, theists get all hyped up and start making end-of-days predictions. It's just dumb, because even the bible states that everyone will be completely in the dark concerning his return. Which, if you think about it, is in direct contradiction to Revelations.

here's a big thing the first is israel had to become a nation again. this happened right after wwii.. then it is said that before the last of that generation died a third temple would be built..
this is starting to happen now: https://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/...spx/198621

then there will be a brokered peace in the middle east.
https://www.state.gov/historic-day-for-p...ddle-east/ and there are 6 more countries lined up.

also happening right now. and the world will know a prosperity like never before for 3.5 years then the antichrist will break the peace with israel... triggering what some think will be the end times/rapture..

other think the rapture comes in the middle of the tribulation period (when god basically rain down plagues and hell on earth) then others still think the rapture happens after all of that.. i think those who are ready at the beginning will be taken at the beginning, and those ready in the middle will be taken in the middle and in the end those who were left to help you a-holes plus those who they helped get raptured in the end. that's kinda the whole point of prophesy, to get the poo poopers on side and to let believers know and be ready.

So no bs.. I was asked if i wanted to stay and help.. i said yes. Don't make me double think myself look, i do not want to stay till the end.. if this revelation stuff starts going down and a legit group get raptured (whether that's beamed up or just all keel over and die at or near the same time, or maybe even go dumb struck (bodies here soul gone) I want to be on that second boat.. because it will be bad up to the mid tribulation period, but not like towards the end. so get over the science crap, as we discussed in the past science does not have the tools/capability to study god, and only those who never want to know the truth of god hide behind science.. that what falsifiability means.. science is not the tool to study the subject matter if the subject is unfalsifiable. God is unfalsifiable! even if science labels god as an alien or transdimensional being, and trys to spin a different narrative don't put your faith in douche bags who told you all your life none of this was real then all of the sudden become experts and try and tell you we were all wrong. It is satan's job to lie. if you guys don't start reading up on this stuff you will be fooled in the end.
