Make me a bet - genius....
I say Keegan Casteel will be offered.a ridiculous misdemeanor to plead guilty to - and he won't even get fined more than a couple thousand bucks ) if any).
No jail time.
Reason - bullshit charges.
If you REALLY think he is some felonious motherfucker - he will get prison time.
So... Jail time - you win. No jail time - I win.
Loser is the winner's bitch and gets a year off the board...
Put up or shut up.

People plead down all the time. : shrugs :
I would expect either man to pay a fine, since neither man ever got around to mass murder. Just like last time, any additional charges, those charges you could either understand or don’t have a fundamental disagreement with, will be born out by whatever either man was doing on Facebook.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. True, What he gets charged with is irrelevant to what his attentions were.

Ok so what I hear on this one is:
1. Transporting guns in a disapproved manner - again
Firearms must be unloaded and locked in a hard-sided container and transported as checked baggage only. As defined by 49 CFR 1540.5 a loaded firearm has a live round of ammunition, or any component thereof, in the chamber or cylinder or in a magazine inserted in the firearm.
2. Not registered to carry at the destination. - again, assumed for some since they were charged as possession by previous offenders
we can add
3. Drugs for distribution and previous felonies
Sounds like the very best he was an irresponsible illegal gun owner and worst an irresponsible loon. Yup sounds like the right call again to arrest them as well. So why defend one but not the other?
I think people are getting hung up on intent. To my knowledge we're not policing thought crimes in their entirety yet. It may factor into sentence which it obviously should in these 2 incidences, IMO. Merely from the news article facts, if they're true seem to indicate guilt of both, I don't see how either could be defended.
Maybe we're not focusing on the right angle .... @ onlinebiker How/Why would you transport a rack of guns across state lines to check into a hotel for a sporting event the next day?

I doubt that whether a given American has sack is as prescient a concern as how many Americans…like you and either man, apparently believe that this silly shit is legal.

I can only speak from my experience on interstate transport of firearms. I worked in Florida for a few years, and flew back and forth to California upwards of 50 round trips. I checked my firearms at the counter, and demonstrated that they were unloaded. They then got in with the checked baggage. I'm pretty sure I didn't pack any ammo; I just don't remember, as the last time I took a firearm on a "trip" was in '06. The laws may have changed.
