How atheists can enjoy religion

RE: How atheists can enjoy religion
Am I believing this thread right? The fact that some writer knew the most obvious fact to anyone that has a brain -- that the wind blows clouds, and that rainclouds have water in them -- is proof that everything the writer said must have come from a god or djinn? I think most 5 year-old kids can figure this out.

I despair for the next generation, if this is the current state of mankind's collective intelligence.

(sighs heavily and shakes head) Just another blatant attempt to hijack humans' observations and attribute them to a god. I'm going to recuse myself from this discussion.

Being told you're delusional does not necessarily mean you're mental.

It's just a different perspective from yours. Not wrong.

Differing perspectives can often be wrong. Acceptance of a perspective, just because it comes from someone, is absurd.

There is a difference between fantasy and reality.  Do you agree that there is one "actual" reality, and that everything that differs from reality is at least partly wrong?

My real opinion? There are multiple realities within the human experience, always in a state of flux because they are "shared" by all humans.......not completely shared, necessarily, but certain aspects of one reality can influence another reality, and people can form similar mental images......."seeing is believing"........and that's true, because people tend to believe what they see with their mind's eye.

That’s the semantic equivalent of saying, ‘I believe in nothing’.

I love it when people concoct "philosophies" that are so nonsensical that they think its genius when in fact its just nonsense.
Why is it so?

Whether or not some nutter or community of nutters believes that cloud fairies push rain where it's needed isn't in dispute.  We know that there are nutters who believe that - there's at least one in this thread.

Do you think it's true..not of human experience or within human experience, but in mere reality, that cloud fairies push rain where needed?  Do you think that this is a scientific miracle in the quran which proves that every other claim made in that magic book is true? This is a softball question, and it's impressive that winter could fail so spectacularly, but it would be inexplicable to see someone who hasn't been so thorughly hobbled by islam cosign such a ridiculous claim in any way. There's a whole industry involved in shitting in a guy like winters skull, he's a product of that. What would your excuse be, if you insist on being a plus one to this idiocy?
