Picard was good almost till the end when it turned out they didn't really know how to end it.
Wait for the next one. Trekophiles seem to go into quivery transports of expectation whenever a new series is announced, only to watch the new one and bitch about it. The quality seems to lie chiefly in the anticipation.

There's nothing like ho cooking
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

lol. Reminds me of a roadside stand near where I grew up. A Traveller family eked out a marginal living selling rabbits, poultry and fishing bait. Their sign SHOULD have read, ‘Rabbits, Eggs, and Worms’. What it DID read was ‘Rabbit’s Eggs, and Worms’.

Sometimes that star is very far,
So far perhaps the star is dead,
Just like your dreams within your head
