I was poor as piss on a plate as a kid, and wore some pretty shredded clothes. Having shredded jeans these days is seen as a measure of wealth. I was too busy trying to earn a living to go grandstand about some effete cause at a grocery store.
I am from a well off family.
I earn a good living and, at this time, have enough financial resources available to have many of the things I would want.
Yet, I would never wear ripped jeans or grandstand like that, either.
