I don't dispute the fact that atheists exist, lol. But atheism, as a position on religious beliefs, lost its charm a while ago. All the major proponents of atheism are epic failures. From Krauss equivocating on the word nothing, to Dawkins misunderstanding Aquinas's all Five ways.

Do you agree with me, @Astreja, that Krauss is a dumbass when it comes to understanding the word nothing ?
The fact that you are unable to get it through you head, that different words have different meanings, depending on the field of study or context, is pretty much a dumbass move on your part.
There is no equivocation, because physicists, define what they mean by the word "nothing", in the context of physics, before they use it. The physics' use of he word "nothing" is not Krauss's alone.
You do understand that many words have different meanings, depending on context, right? The phrase, "you are driving me crazy", is a different meaning for the word "driving", than, "you are driving me to the store".
Is this point of differing definitions of the word "nothing" really where you want to hang your hat as far as calling out a physicist?
It's not that physicists misunderstand the word "nothing", it is that there is a different meaning within the purview of physics, than there is in purview of philosophy.
You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.

You know that atheists don't have popes and imams, right? What am I saying..ofc you do, because this has been explained to you before. Is this another instance of you insisting that gods die on the field of your own ignorance?

It is not an equivocation.
Physicists have a different definition within the context of physics, than philosophers and theologians have. And they make their definition clear before they use it.
And Krauss is not the first physicist to use the word in the same way, nor the only one.

I've really never even flirted with the idea of being a full blown atheist, seems preposterous.
I'm glad we're all enjoying a harmony of despair here.

I'm guessing you've never really flirted with anything. Ideas or people. Flirting being a thing that relies on personal and external variables entirely beyond the persona you've presented here, on the boards.

No, @ Simon Moon. I am not the one who put the book title "A Universe from Nothing: Why There Is Something Rather than Nothing".
It's clear what we mean by nothing when we ask the question of why there is something rather than nothing, we really mean nothing, no matter, no energy, no quantum vacuum state. Krauss didn't make any effort to clarify what he means by nothing in his title. He is therefore guilty of equivocating, or at the very least, he's using a misleading title.
Sean Carroll is an atheist physicist, he clearly asserts that physics has absolutely no saying on the question that Krauss pretends to have answered:
Quote: "Do advances in modern physics and cosmology help us address these underlying questions, of why there is something called the universe at all, and why there are things called 'the laws of physics' and why those laws seem to take the form of quantum mechanics, and why some particular wave function and Hamiltonian? In a word: no. I don't see how they could"
