Is Atheism Dead?

RE: Is Atheism Dead?
Yeah, pretty much...rightly or wrongly, people invite me to their things. Do you get invited to things often?

I mean you, ofc, not your brownies. I got "invited" to alot more when I was a caterer. People put up with alot of shit they can't stand for a chance at a decent cookie.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

I haven't been to a ton of parties. I turned down going to more parties than I've ever been to. But one of my friends (at the time) even said I was "the life of the party". Nowadays a party seems pointless since I don't drink anymore.

Yeah...I gathered as much. I'll tell you what, it's a good thing you stopped entertaining your "friends"...because some people just like to watch a trainwreck in progress...and that's not ever going to be healthy for you.

You don't drink....anymore....? Fuck, do I need to repeat myself or are you already cognizant?

From the table of contents it looks like some recycled arguments from ignorance and old fashioned atheist bashing but it's clearly getting some serious traction. A quick web search didn't turn up any serious rebuttals so I'm wondering if any have been posted.

Ugh. Nope. I don't have the patience anymore for this kind on nonsense. I'll let the militants charge.

Ah, yes, people who claim that atheism is dead forget that they are also atheists

teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

If Atheism and by extension doubt in religious belief was truly dead, or even on the way out, then we would have no secular societies left on this planet. The fact that the trend seems to be towards "pro choice" across free will on flavour of religion (including no religion) in most places of the world apart from either dictatorial regimes or fanatics seems to indicate the exact opposite.

Let me ask you this. If the majority of people truly believed that if you don't worship the big guy you go to place of eternal flames and torture, then by golly, wouldn't we be failing miserably as a society by not mandating such belief simply from a health and safety point of view?
