Russia and Ukraine
RE: Russia and Ukraine
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

Quote:Here is a blog post by a British guy who lives in China. I cannot vouch that is 100% accurate, but it might make sense for you to read something by someone who is actually there. He gives links to other sites. Many of the sources I see, both independent (non-corporate) anglophone media and media from Chinese-speakers, corroborate what he's saying.

The China shilling on this site is freaking amazing

There is a great deal of misinformation on the Internet.

At this point, if it defended your position yes I think you would defend forced labor if it was China or Russia doing it.

It freaking is

Quote:And no one is surprised that Ukrainian soldiers are in bad condition in Bakhmut. Ukraine is losing badly.
False. Even if Russia manages to take the city it might as well be a defeat for the ungodly losses they have taken for a worthless pile of rubble that will be difficult to defend from counter-attacks and they have not even come close to anything essential in Ukraine. If you call Ukraine losing badly you need to have your head checked. See I actually can give reasons why Russia is losing all you can do is proclaim Ukraine is losing.

Ukraine is inflicting a casualty rate on russia somewhere between 5-1 and 7-1, depending on who you believe, in bakhmut. It's estimated that a rate of 2-1 holds for the conflict overall since 2014. The KIA-WIA within those rates are assessed to be much higher for russian forces, due to a lack of adequate combat medical gear. If that's what it looks like when ukraine is losing, then it's worse for russia than anyone imagined.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Let us remember that a 3:1 offensive ratio is considered minimum for good chances of success.

Even if Ukraine were to capitulate today, Russia has already lost the war. Leave aside the massive loss of manpower/equipment, the loss of Russia’s status as a near-peer, and the exposure of the inadequacies endemic in the Russian military. Since Putin’s rationalization for this mess was his opposition to NATO expansion, I think he’d be stunned by how quickly Turkey and Hungary drop their objections to new admissions.

If you fail to achieve your stated objectives, you’ve lost the war.

Stop reading news that dont agree with Bel. You are propagandized!
Oh and Russia is not responsible for Russia invading Ukraine. After 300 pages Bel was not able to make that simple statement, probably knowing how asinine that would sound.
Yet thats what he is trying (not) to say for the past 100 pages, without saying it out loud.
