SROs are off duty cops when a school is poor, and on duty cops when it isn’t.
Does rent a cop mean something different in batshitistan? Look, I’m not suggesting that you end your ceaseless shitposting…what else would you post? I do think you can make a better effort, though.

Religion and race are not the only motives or causes. Mental illness, lost angry youth, workplace grudge for examples. The Vegas shooter was 64 years old.
Don't get distracted by the GOP game of "it's this" "it's that" "its another thing" "My dog ate my homework, shoot the dog" "We need door control".
Unless we address the flooded market and ease of access from the factory to the shops and stop resting on "no record at time of buy" and fix our crappy vetting system, and lack of national standards, none of the causes or motives can be effectively dealt with either.

Since veteran, on-site-, trained law enforcement personnel were unable to stop school massacres at Parkland, Buffalo and Uvalde, maybe the 'defund the police' folks were right all along.
But the right wants to arm lunch lady Doris and school nurse Betty, and expect them to stop a domestic terrorist with an AR-15.

Well, clearly the market isn't flooded, or guns would be cheaper. But I'll play along - how do you plan to address the so-called 'flooded market'?

The market is flooded, and guns are dirt cheap. They last longer than just about any other product. The big price tags on new stuff is a “new and improved” kind of market…thoroughly filled with gimmicks whose value disappears the minute you hand over your money.
That’s why police depts offer so little money when they run a buyback. They know people will bite, they know there are tons of firearms in that range, and they know that these firearms…very specifically, are the ones they’re constantly finding in trace data.

No, the entire idea, on any product of "supply and demand" is a crock. It made sense when the stock market first gained traction. But when the economy sucks, prices stay up or goes up, when the economy is good, prices still go up. The dips that bring prices down over time, are much like climate change over 100 years, the trend of our earth getting warmer is still on an upward trajectory, fall and winter are not changing what we are causing.
Marketing now is whatever you can get away with.
400 million firearms in civilian hands isn't a flooded market? Our population is only 330 million, and you have to subtract those under 18 or 21 depending on state. A person can only operate one firearm at a time, two if they are a circus act. We have 42 percent of the world's firearms.
If arm more and sell more were working, we wouldn't have the number of firearm deaths we do.
If I had my way, there would be a 10 year moratorium on manufacturing firearms.<--- admittedly that is a very long shot to happen. There still would be enough firearms already sold that could be resold. There would be a waiting period. If you are a honest non violent responsible firearm owner, waiting a few days to buy one isn't going to hurt you. I would model our firearm safety laws after other countries like New Zealand and Australia. Lawsuits do happen with firearm manufactures, but they are extremely difficult and mostly impossible to file because of the laws the GOP has passed severely limiting liability suits. I would get rid of the immunity laws protecting that industry from lawsuits. No other products get the level of protection firearms do. I would not allow firearm ads on TV or radio. Just like tobacco is sold in Australia, they don't display the packs or cartons out in the open. You have to request them at the counter, and then they pull the pack, or carton, out of a non descript cabinet or drawer based on number code.
I would also ban lobbyists/CEOs from inciting fear and panic buys. That fear marketing is divisive and dangerous. It turns otherwise reasonable people into a public health risk, not only to others, but also to themselves.
Now if your asking me if I can get all that, of course not, at least not now. But we have to start somewhere. I certainly do not have all the solutions or perfect magic cures, but we cannot continue letting NRA/NSSF/GOP and conservative media control the narrative. What we are doing here in America clearly is not working.

Which one is the child, and which the adult in your scenario, Biker?
If Uvalde is instructive , it seems to me that it’s gonna be the kid in the ice, and the cops unwilling to make the attempt. I guess it could be the other way around. They might try a teen as an adult for depraved indifference if they sat around slack jawed watching a cop die.
