Maybe, but they still have thousands of toddlers attending drag shows every year.

Let me remind you - you ASKED Brian what the " right" number of gun is - did you think for one second he would not insist that number had not already been acheived - but more guns needed to be built?
Dude - some things ARE safe to assume......
37’s issue seems to be ease of access (he’s not as right as he thinks he is about that). This means guns in the hands of people, it’s got fuck all to do with manufacturing. When he talks about limiting guns, he’s obviously referring to how many people are able to acquire guns, not how many guns are built.
You are an adult. Act like one, admit you made a mistake and move on.
Boru And not only can I not find any elected official who’s come out as being in favor of ending gun manufacture, I can’t imagine how anyone would think such an idea would be practical. Even on the off chance that they did criminalize all civilian ownership of firearms (and I say it’s an off chance because I have found zero elected officials admitting they supported that policy), you’d think the military would need firearms.

That’s how 2A-ers think - anyone who offers even a modest proposal regarding lessening gun violence obviously wants to take all guns from everybody, criminalize gun ownership, and ban the manufacture and importation of any weapon more powerful than a nerf gun.
It just ain’t so.

Exactly right. And this is what keeps this fucking rollercoaster just going and going. We think and pray over kids that die. We argue over the solution. We do exactly nothing. Lather, rinse, repeat.
I had a front row seat to a shooting last August in Michigan. It barely made the news. The kid was in custody for threatening to shoot up his school and his mother begged and pleaded with the law for them to keep him locked up. They didn't. The day they took off his ankle bracelet, he set to work on his manifesto. He got access to his grandfather's guns (one of which he had carved Nazi symbols into) and shot two people, killing one, before shooting himself in the head. He shot countless rounds toward the crowd of people who were there, including myself. Had his grandfather had an AR in his gun collection instead of the Ruger he had, I probably would be dead today, along with a lot of other people who were there.
By the way, there was at least one man who was armed at the beach that day. It did fuck all to save the couple that were shot.

One thing the gun crowd gets right is that firearms are no more dangerous than any other piece of machinery in the right hands. OLB having guns is not a problem. Where he and I disagree is on what should be done to address gun violence.

Boru You don' t see what you don' t want to see...
You SAY you don' t want to take all guns away.
......
R ight... Sure....
You just want gun owners to have access to their single shot.gun - with one bullet at a time - once they pass their weekly psych eval, and post a 1 million dollar bond - then they can shoot that round at the approved target at the approved range - then come back in a week to repeat the whole thing........
"But we didn' t take your guns!!!"
It' s what happens when you start pushing dumb laws that do nothing to curb bad behavior.
Take away the high cap magazines - the shooters will use low cap mags. Take away semi- auto - they' ll use pumps - and the anti gun faction will just keep at it - passing more and more draconian laws..... None of which will stop freakshow fuckers from killing people who are content to leave their safety to someone else.....
You think there's a solution..... But you clearly haven' t even figured out what is causing the problem....

Thank you for telling me what I want. You’re wrong on every count, but thanks all the same.
When did I say guns should be restricted to single shot? Never.
When did I proposed a weekly psych evaluation? Never.
When did I say gun owners should post a million dollar bond (or ANY bond)? Never.
When did I say gun use should be restricted to firing ranges? Never.
Why did I never say those thing? Because I don’t agree with them.
