if you are on north or south pole, stars and constellation in hakf if the sky will always remain invisible.    as you move closer to the equator, more and more of the sky will become visible during some part of the year, until you reach the equator, when the entire sky will be visible during some part of the year.

And if the earth is flat, how do you explain traveling from point A in a straight line to eventually end up back at point A?

If you are on the equator, you can see every star in the sky during some part of the year, even if some would always be so low they continuously kiss the horizon.   if you move with north or south, then increasing portions of the stars will remain forever invisible, forever at least on human life time scales.   The reduction continues until one reaches the poles, when only half of sky will ever be visible.

Yes.

Traveling very far is unlikely to have been a very common experience amongst those who might think the earth could be flat.

Speaking of travel, the moon appears to be oriented differently and appears higher in the sky at my current location (20 degrees north) compared to my home in the USA (45 degrees north). Neither pheomenon is consistent with a flat earth.

RE: Refuting the Flat-Earth theory
If earth was flat, then the shape of the earth’s shadow cast upon the moon during a lunar eclipse would be subject to perspective depending the location of the moon relative to the flat earth. So the shadow should be rounder if the eclipse occurs midnight, and would be more of a narrow ellipse if the eclipse occurs just after sun set or just before sun rise.

Yet the shape of the shadow is manifestly the same no matter what part of the night the eclipse occurs. Such a shadow can only be cast by a spherical earth.

It's almost as if flat earthers are idiots.

almost, but not quite.   it will still take a bit more intelligence and education to fully qualify as card carrying idiots.

Perhaps flat earthers should look for days when idiots are in relatively generous frames of mind, and ask for probationary membership.
