Trump is clearly a lock for the R nomination, but won’t win in general.

I think his nomination could be torpedoed by a conviction.  I also think it's too far out to prognosticate.

I also think that the overturning of Roe v Wade will drive female and youth turnout. Hopefully the voting polity will see that not only a President but a Senate vote matters.

I agree the Trump is a poor fit for the general election. He's got a high floor but a low ceiling.

I'm also hoping that paying into Social Security with no guarantee of payback will turn enough young voters to the D side, if they weren't already. The chump and Moscow Mitch have been waving deleting "entitlements" around like crazy. Well, were. Election of another R is going to bring that rhetoric to front burner again, more so than what the Bastard of Bakersfield® (McCarthy) is trying for.
If you get to thinking you’re a person of some influence, try ordering somebody else’s dog around.

A possible harbinger of how young voters may break in 2024: in the recent Ohio vote, 98% of Republican voters ages 18-30 voted ‘no’ on the attempt - by Republicans - to make it virtually impossible for voters to amend the state constitution. While it’s clearly risky to make predictions based on a single issue vote, it may indicate that even young Republicans aren’t buying into the Trumpist power grab plans.

Also, it’s clear as can be that Republicans know they have a serious problem with younger voters. If they didn’t, they would be making all this noise about raising the voting age.

Update on that: 19 people named in the 41-count indictment. Trump may or may not go to prison, but it's hard to see how Guiliani can avoid it.

Awful choices shaping up for this election.

The GOP is not an option for me. Stupid culture war crap, sweetheart deals for corporations, authoritarianism, fictionalized narratives, alternate reality nonsense.

Even the Libertarians have gone paleo psuedo fascist with their individualist "I tread on you" message. Losers.

That leaves only Biden. Ugh. An octogenarian career insider with no charisma and a plan for a status quocracy.

Sad.

^This. Mr. Biden doesn’t get the credit he deserves.

I've considered doing that, but it always seem that, even if there are no candidates or issues I want to vote for, there are always ones I want to vote against.
