2024 US Presidential Election
RE: 2024 US Presidential Election
The old people don't understand the 'brat' reference.

Stop looking at me. I don't care, it's getting her name and positions out to a generation(s) that need to be involved.
I don't have an anger problem, I have an idiot problem.

We seemed to start getting younger, non-voters involved when it was a vote against Trump and before that when Obama was running and winning. I am hoping a younger candidate is a motivation for those who have watched old, rich, white men cause all this chaos.

I am trying to still have hope for this country.

Quote:Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) on Tuesday endorsed Vice President Harris to be the Democratic nominee for president, further consolidating the party behind her bid for the White House.

Schumer and Jeffries made their support official during a press conference steps from the Capitol.

... and:

Quote:Former presidential candidate Andrew Yang declared that he will back Vice President Harris and her eventual running mate in the November general election after criticizing the Democrats’ previous choice of President Biden as the party’s nominee.

Yang said in a Tuesday post on X that he is worried about a potential Trump second term and that the former president does not have the “character” to serve.

When you add up the cascading endorsements, $100 million raised her first day, and the potential to reengage younger voters, this looks more like a good decision.

It looks as though Harris already has a majority of pledged delegates, making it extremely likely that she’ll be nominated on the first vote.

Someone owes me a new laptop....

Through it all, his pugnaciousness has persisted — something that spokesperson Steven Cheung shrugged off in a statement.

“President Trump is a truth-teller, and there is nothing more unifying than telling the truth about a weak, failed, incompetent, and dangerously liberal Kamala Harris and her destructive policies,” Cheung said in response to questions about his latest attacks on the campaign trail.

“President Trump is a truth-teller,

I think he is conflating strident subjective opinion with the truth, people emotionally invested in beliefs often make this mistake.

Or he's just lying, about someone else lying, of course. Trump's rhetoric is littered with examples of him doubling down on his own mendacity, like the "stolen election" lie for example, note how when pressed for evidence we end up with a second lie about an unevidenced conspiracy to cover up that "evidence", and by republican judges in many cases, even ones appointed by Trump.

The truth doesn't always set you free, sometimes it is so obvious it condemns people from their own mouths.

Trump is a truth-teller like Greenland is a tropical paradise.

Michael Cohen said it best: Donald Trump lies in the same way that other people breath. He doesn't think about it; he's probably not even consciously aware of it. It's become a totally autonomous function. He does it over and over, continuously and he will continue to do so until he dies.
Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.

Quote:Almost 40,000 people registered to vote in the 48 hours after President Biden announced he was suspending his reelection campaign and endorsing Vice President Harris, Vote.org said.

Vote.org said 38,500 new voters registered, representing the largest number of registrations in a 48-hour period this election cycle.

Of the new voter registrations, 83 percent were from people aged 18-34, according to the voting registration nonprofit group.

“A healthy democracy depends on all Americans making their voices heard at the ballot box, and this is a highly encouraging sign that voters are ready to just that,” Andrea Hailey, the organization’s CEO, said in a statement.

Vote.org also said the new voter registration numbers top last September, when Taylor Swift urged her followers to register, which resulted in 34,000 new voters in a 48-hour period.

Since Harris announced she would be running, young Democrats and Generation Z voters have shown enthusiasm in backing her campaign against former President Trump.
