With the whole world turning or continuing to be authoritarian, humanity is going downhill.

I had a lot of things typed out in this post and ready to submit. But fuck it, I can't pretend I'm an expert at what has led to this. All I know is none of this is surprising from a psychosocial perspective and I had a feeling this was going to be a repeat of 2016 despite me hoping desperately for Harris to win. Basically, the Dems failed to show that they had the better option this time, and maybe they just didn't have a chance anyway.

You guys have my deepest sympathy at your Trump infestation.

Well, that was ugly. I have lost what little faith I had in the American people. For many years I have flown the flag on my home. Today I will retire it. It no longer stands for what it used to in my eyes.

I'm so sorry everyone... [more] dark days ahead. This is an utterly depressing day, and I'm not even American. If the world wasn't already enough on a knife-edge and then this happens Sad

Sometimes democracy doesn't deliver what you want, this is one of those days. One can only hope that it won't be as disastrous as anticipated. Buckle up though, this is going to be a bumpy 4 years.

^you actually think he will leave in 4 years? Only way that happens is if he's carried out of the WH.

Stoic philosophy basically says to expect chaos in the world and even embrace it, and that's about the only thing that's keeping me sane in this ever increasingly fucked up world we're living in.

Is there a rule in America that you only can only have two terms as President (as I heard)?
